Rescuing fledglings
Not a 'pet' question as such, but hope wild bird lovers can help. What would you do if you found a fledgling bird that had fallen out of its nest. Would you try to find the nest and put it back? What if it was the wrong nest, would the parents find their fledgling and continue to feed it or reject it?

Protect yours from predators and the parent birds should hear its calls for help. Hope it isn't too late.

I have spent the last 2 days keeping cats and magpies from the baby blue tits that have fledged from my nestbox. It is very demanding and means no sleep.

I don't know what's happening at the moment. I found a baby blackbird in my garden not far from a nest that I later found in my hedge. It couldn't fly but by golly it could run! It kept hiding in amongst my thick border of flowers for 2 days, the parents were watching over it as every time I went near it they made their presence felt. After I found the nest in the hedge, I decided to scoop it up and put it in. We have had a lot of rain here and i was concerned about its survival. But have been left wondering if I did the right thing by interfering with nature. Haven't hear a peep from the nest since and the parents don't make an appearance when I go near it.

I don't think there is a right thing. Usually nature will run its course. Is the chick still in the nest ?
