I wonder why Nani was not a success at Man United

If only Iceland could stop giving the ball away.

Their defending has left questions to be answered, though.
Indeed. They've been comfortable since that first few moments though Pepe and Carvalho can certainly be got at by a side with pace.

There's been some really decent balls put in to the box by Portugal in this half.

That Icelandic centre back, Sigurdsson, is a sitting duck when it comes to dealing with these crosses.

I'm not sure he wasn't a success. He may not have lived up to expectations entirely but there were people expecting him to be Ronaldo 2.0 so wasn't exactly an easy task. He certainly won a good lot.

Touches him and he's in agony. 5 seconds later, he's walking away as if nothing happened.

They're just laughable sometimes.

I still have a small part of me which likes Nani, so I am pleased that he scored.
TMI dude!

Did Henry's shirt maker run out of material?

Like the way Portugal have gone about their business in this match. I think they will cause quite a number of teams problems when attacking, but they seem vulnerable defensively, their midfield does not provide sufficient cover among other reasons.

Good bit of analysis from Shearer there. I think he has hit the nail on the head. Every time they got the ball in the box, it was awash with white shirts.

Get it there quicker from the Iceland half.

Quite the faux pas. BBC mustn't be paying enough to cover the wardrobe because he's usually way more slick on Sky.

That shirt probably cost upwards of £300

I think the commentators were unfair in their criticisms of Portugal at the start of the second half. They were talking as though this was a final, rather than the first match of a tournament. Portugal are playing sensible tournament football, playing within themselves.

That will teach me!

...glad I didn't post my comment about Iceland being poor!

Still, terrible defending from Portugal.
