The game will also be broadcast online at ITV Hub and on BBC Radio 5 Live and talkSPORT.

These two have met well over a hundred times. Hungary have 65 wins, Austria have 40. Amazingly, though, they have only met once at a major tournament and that was way back in the 1934 World Cup.

The Austrians were awesome in qualifying, winning their group by 8 points and were one of only 4 unbeaten sides.

This is Hungary's first appearance in a major tournament since the 1986 World Cup.

Just for having the oldest player at the tournament, I will be rooting for Hungary in this match.

This is the best Austrian side since the 1980s but then it is also the best Hungarian side. Local rivalry should make this a cracking match!!

I have Austria as an outside bet to reach the last 4. I will know just how much of a good idea, or otherwise, that was soon!

Two teams with awful records at the Euros (Austria have never won a match at the Euros and Hungary hadn't qualified for them for 40 years), let's hope they can provide us with an entertaining match.

Looking forward to seeing how this group plays out. I'm sure Iceland, Austria and Hungary are expecting Portugal to run away with this group, which should mean they'll be properly going for it in their matches against each other.

Ah, Krisztián Németh, I was only thinking about him the other day. There was a player who the commentator kept mentioning that sounded like him. He was one of the supposedly promising youth players that Liverpool let go, causing outrage by some fans who thought the was the next big thing.

Just realised I botched the thread title. That's what happens when you mix an early start with a rushed copy & paste.

Although, technically, the country's official title is Republic of Austria so it's not all bad.

History buffs must have chuckled, seeing this fixture in the list. Austria-Hungary, heh.

Even in football terms, it's like winding back the clock, because these were major powers back in the day.

Much obliged.

My first memory of Hungary was their 10-1 thrashing of El Salvador in the 1982 World Cup. And they still didn't qualify from their group.

Yep, I was old enough to see Pathe News reports (in the cinemas) of them slaughtering England.

"This part of the world", I was only half-listening but France is a big country, of course the weather isn't going to be the same all over! Lille is only 150 miles from where I live in London, it's much closer to me than it is to Bordeaux or Marseille.

Portugal always flatter to deceive at times in group stages

You respond to posts of posters for years and you always have an age of most in your head but that through me completely
