I'm off today so I'm going to find season two online and watch. Although I might actually watch the whole thing from the start.

I actually think Savannah was better than Desperate Housewives - at least the later seasons anyway. It did come before its time.”

Since the 90's, ITV have been notoriously bad when it comes to scheduling the few US imports that they do buy. The Americans being the most recent example of that.

While that is technically true, The WB would premiere Dawson's Creek two years later which was another serial primetime soap drama. So i wonder if there was more to the cancellation than what we really know. The cast and crew must of got some hint about the show coming to an end because the season 2 finale does essentially serve as a wrap up.

Despite the show's short run, it did kick off the career of soap actress Jamie Lunar, who would go on to do Melrose Place and All My Children.”

Moving it from Sunday to Monday nights for it's second season didn't help either.

I think had it aired on FOX, it would've lasted longer. It was one of the inaugural shows of the WB but when you look at the teen oriented route that the channel quickly took, Savannah was not in keeping with the brand and would've looked very out of place on the lineup. I think when they were starting out, they figured having an Aaron Spelling show on their schedule would add a certain cachet to the channel, much like he did for FOX in it's early days. They would eventually get that cachet with Seventh Heaven but it wasn't to be with Savannah.

That's true. Savannah was less teen oriented than shows that would follow on The WB in the near future.

I am not going to hold my breath. This must be the third or fourth time they have started it from the beginning. They always stop at the end of season 2.

Hope it's different this time.
