What's the Euro 2016 tv coverage like in other countries?

Is anyone watching this tournament in any country outside the UK? If so, what's their tv coverage like? Have they sent their presenters and pundits to France in a nice studio set? If you can understand the language, how do you rate the quality of their coverage?

I bet French tv are putting on one hell of a show!

Might be a short thread, cant imagine may posters understand foreign languages enough and watch other european coverage to have any opinion. I saw this clip of Rep of Ireland (RTE) studio coverage on youtube though. It was uploaded because the bloke on the right hand end called James McCarthy "a waste of space" and that he got his (everton) manager sacked.

But i was more taken aback that in 2016 its three disinterested very old pros sitting behind a desk "phoning in" their views whilst constantly name dropping players from the 1970s. Looks abysmal.

If i was in ireland id be watching a european channel on the satelite or internet instead.

I can't say anything as to the quality of the presenting or commentating but the set is quite nice in Poland. The huge issue for me though is that since the 2nd day of the tournament only one game per day has been shown on free tv, whereas the other 2, or 1 in yesterdays case, are on pay tv. Now we pay 80 per month for our tv and internet and to get the channel showing all the matches would cost 99 extra, so more than double. It's ridiculous tbh.

I have been told by a Polish person that it will only be like this for the group stages but as I can only see the tv schedule 1 week in advance I can't check until the last 16 are a week away.

Just about every game is shown free throughout Eirope if you have a FTA satellite receiver and motorised dish. See liveonsat.com. Probably cost no more than £180 and it lasts for years.

I flick between countries because I can't stand the banality of UK commentators and it is more the excitement of the commentators than the language. The UK TV camera angles seem quite poor but then I do get the foreign stations in 720p if not full HD.

Irish punditry seems to be all about 'tough talking' and trying to come up with the most 'controversial' points. Aka, talking shite for attention.

I've watched a few games on Italian TV (Rai). I think they're sharing the coverage with Sky Italia. They've got commentators and pitchside reporters in France but the main studio they're presenting from is outside the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Edit - Just checked. Sky Italia showing all games. Rai showing 27 games including all of Italy's games.

Yeah, you're bang on the money there. The three of them are well past their sell by date and at least one of them (Dunphy) is just there as a controversialist and self publicist. His comments are a real cheap shot too, implying the reason that Ireland dropped two points on Monday was down to McCarthy......I don't think it's fair to hold up a single player for ridicule like that, especially when the team played really well and positively.

Some good aspects to their coverage though. They have a nightly one hour highlights / magazine type show at 10.30pm with guests in studio and live reports from France.

Can you watch it on a computer? There are loads of sites that stream live tv.

I can, so it's not all bad, just would be nice to see it decently on tv instead.

True, some of those sites are a bit bad quality. Well, it's something.
