An almost throw-away comment in an article about Matt Lucas appearing in the next series, refers to "series 10 which starts filming next week in Cardiff (Monday 20 June)."

Didn't Peter Capaldi himself say a week or so ago that filming was starting very soon ? So much for the poster who claimed that the series had been cancelled. I presume it is the Christmas episode they will be filming first.

You have presumed correct.

Christmas 2016 Episode will be filmed 1st and then the 10th series will start filming in July because each episode takes at least 4-6 weeks filming then editing.
