Russian manager looks like he is contemplating his one-way ticket to the gulag

Well, Hamiska didn't look happy for some reason.
Game management they were panicking. It shouldn't have been that close at the end

Good win for the Slovaks, and a deserved one. Russia looked poor and only seemed to bother once they got a goal back.

As far as I can tell the whole group is still up for grabs, northing and no places are decided.

Really pleased for Slovakia . I think 2-1 was a fair result overall.

Russia are in serious trouble, now needing a win against Wales. They'll be hoping Wales beat England so that they're playing a side already through and top.

You would think the final whistle meaning his team won would make him crack a smike though.

So third place it is going into the Welsh match, big, big pressure to win it, a draw would really not be good enough.
Weren't England guaranteed to be 3rd going into that no matter today's result?

If Slovakia won they and Wales would have 3, England and Russia 1 each, equal on head to head, Russia with a worse goal difference.

If it was a draw Wales would have 3, Russia 2, England and Slovakia on 1 each, no head 2 head yet, England with better GD.

If Russsia won, they'd have 4, Wales 3, England 1 and Slovakia 0.

Ok, I'm in full panic mode now, that draw against Russia is just looking worse and worse.

Maybe I'm being overly negative but I wonder what the odds are on England failing to make it through the group, must be worth a bet now. Right now can't see us beating Wales. You know Bale will score at least one and we couldn't score twice against Russia so how are we going to score two against a much better defence. So we'll go into the Slovakia game needing a win to go through and Hamsik and co will pick us off on the counter and send us home.

Exactly, a Slovakia win was the best outcome as it still leaves qualification in our hands if we lose to Wales. Obviously we'd have to beat Slovakia in the last game and hope Russia didn't better our score.

A draw whilst wouldn't be ideal still wouldn't be game over. Just adds ALOT of pressure to the Slovakia game.

Anyway I reckon we'll stuff Wales and Bale can politely **** off.

Wouldnt we still have to beat Slovakia in the last game even with a point against Wales? BBC are saying 4 points pretty much means going through, so its best for us to win tomorrow.

It's best for us to win the group. As I said in the betting thread, assuming the seeds (with Italy replacing Belgium) win their groups then Germany, France and Italy are all heading for the other side of the draw to the winners of our group who will have Portugal and Spain as competition in the way to the final.

Thanks
Somehow I cant see us winning the group at the moment, with Russia at the bottom it makes our late draw seem worse and worse imo

England will have too much for Wales. Both teams will be motivated so the stronger side will win.
