Thought I'd start this thread earlier than usual seeing as this is the big one, well, for the English and Welsh anyway!

The game will also be on talkSPORT, BBC Radio 5 Live and on the BBC Sport website and App.

This is the 102nd meeting between the two sides. Wales last goal and win against England came way back in 1984 when they won 1-0. England have won the last 4 clashes.

Wales have conceded in their last 5 matches, their worse run for 3 years.

England have failed to score more than once in 13 of their last 14 matches at major tournaments.

Let battle commence...

What a match this is going to be

Calling a 1-1 here.

Have to say too that I've enjoyed Bale riling things up a bit. It's all tongue in cheek but it makes things a bit more interesting.

I think England will score in the first minute then Bale scores in injury time to equalise

3-1 to England as long as Kane and Sterling are 'rested'.

i'd probably go for it and play vardy & kane up front together for this one... definitely agree about sterling though.

I'm actually really nervous about this. Can see Bale really stepping up.

But God I hope we smash them and keep him quiet for a bit...

The realist in me says England will win but the optimist is hoping for a Welsh victory.

The only prediction I'm willing to make about the match is that it won't finish with all 22 players on the pitch.

If we can tie Gareth Bale up and get a few breaks will win. Personally it might be time for a good old fashioned Alan Shearer type professional foul on him.

German Felix Brych is going to be referee for this one. He's handed out 23 red cards in 96 internationals. He's also given 28 penalties.

Vardy must be given a chance in this game . Kane has been disappointing . Can't they find someone else to take the free kicks . He should be in the box waiting to flick the ball goalwards .
I'd prefer Rooney more forward as he's England's top scorer . He's going to wear himself out going all the way back defending .

100% Vardy and Sturridge need to play a part in this game. Hodgson is being lazy with his thinking. He didnt even use all 3 substitutes against Russia when we clearly were not safe, and were not able to put the ball away. He needs to find the Ballz to bring a player off and fix the issue. The issue was we could not put the ball in the net and if I was Roy the first thing I would have done is take off Lallana or Sterling and bring Vardy or Sturridge on. Not rocket science is it Roy? I really hope he does not cower out of making bold decisions again. Because if he does, we will be out at the groups stages YET AGAIN.

I'd be happy if England started with lallana sterling and kane for sure. The likes of sturridge and vardy worry me alot more than those three.

Think ive read wales are unchanged. Be gutted if we are, bale will be easier to contain if hes up top, at least if hes behind the striker he may get more freedom with another striker occupying their defence.

I think it'll be 1-1

Should be a cracking contest, I just hope the England players are not as wound up as me about it.

I'm going to predict a comfortable England win, 3-1, with Rooney reminding everyone he scored as many goals as Bale in the qualifying group round. But I would definitely settle right now for a 1-0 win for England.

Fingers crossed there is no trouble in the ground. (What sort of security is there when fans can take flares into the grounds?)

The lack of large scale boozing will affect the atmosphere a lot.

I'd like Vardy in the team. He excites me more than almost any other England player

I said before the tournament began I would play Sturridge with either Kane or Vardy. I think Vardy, with his extra pace compared to Kane and Kane's very flat display against Russia, should be given the nod to face his club team mate Williams, who at times moves and turns with the speed of a large oil tanker. So Sturridge with Vardy would spearhead my attack, but unfortunately I don't expect Hodgson to change things much at all from the Russia game.

Wales are very overrated and are going into this with a very arrogant and cocky attitude. They are a hard working team but technically not in the same league as our stars. I think we'll do 'em 3-0 or 3-1 with maybe a Bale consolation.

If we mess this up it will be a bitter disappointment. This team has some real talent and has the potential to end our trophy drought.

Regardless my money is very much on a resounding England victory today.

Aside from the local derby feel it's hard to care that much about this, as nothing is concrete until the third round of games with the 24 team format. What it has in intrigue it really lacks in tension.

So much arrogance in once post.

I think Roy has his favourite players, and I think Sterling is one of them, so even though he played shockingly poor against a very poor and average Russian side, he will be in the team very much undeservedly.

I can see Wales being very happy to let us dominate the ball, and eibg happy to break quickly via Bale.

We will do very well to get a victory today, as if we struggled to create chances against a very poor Russian side, then chances against a well drilled and organised Wales defence will be even more at a premium.

I would an England victory, and will be rooting us on all the way, however taking my heart out if it, and using my head, I can't see Wales getting beat today.

We didn't struggle to create chances against Russia. We struggled to take them.

We struggled to create clear cut chances, the ones that we did were not very testing for their keeper.
