No, it's about proving to be better attackers than them and being better defenders. England showed neither, both goals were pure mistakes, especially the first one. Nothing to do with showing they were better at all.

You can even argue that Vardy nearly screwed up the best chance England had by being in the offside position he was in, it's only bad luck that the ball came off a Welsh player, or it never would have counted.

We need to stop judging games by who dominates possession, Leicester got dominated most games last season but won the league, it's about what you do with the possession not how much yo have.

i am saying from a tactical point of view ,, you talk about dominating as if we had 20 or 30 close chances and scored 4 or 5 all from dominant tactical play ,, we didnt we lumped the ball into the box and hoped for the best ,, i still think if Wales were not on 3 points and a goal up at half time i honestly dont think they would have sat so far back allowing us all of the ball

When you concede the first goal. Can't make goals out of chances. Can't keep the ball. Can't secure a good Defence line. Can't put the right people into play. Only score goals through scrappy means and spend the entire match chasing after a win then securing it then you are not a good team/manager you are a lucky team/manager

How often were we under threat? How often were we in possession, and in their half? How many attempts did we have compared to them?

Is anything less than a 5-0 win against these upstarts lucky? Wales would have been lucky if they'd got a draw, as Russia were.

Being in possession and showing dominance are different things, you could have a team pass to each other constantly and end up with 90% possession but it doesn't mean they dominated. England were lucky to get the win and if they hope to have a chance of getting anywhere they need to show true dominance, and that's using the possession to outclass the other team, something they didn't do today.

Oh well a win is still a win regardless, and on this occasion England played well enough in the second half to deserve the win and got it and that's all that counts.

Was there a huge gulf between England and the performances of the big favourites? I don't think so. That to me was quite like one of those United performances under Ferguson where they just kept up the pressure, threw on all their attacking players and eventually got the break. People lauded them for it.

Fuming with the way Wales played in this match, we were far too defensive, not enough passes through to Bale to cause their defence problems.
We dropped far too deep, and brought pressure from England which eventually was going to cause us huge problems, it was heroic defending to keep it 1-1 and very unlucky to lose that late goal but still I feel Wales were too passive in this game.
I`m not happy with Coleman`s tactics at all.
