Was it the last Euros where a game was played in an almost flood? Turkey were playing someone.

Hailstones in June in France
In Lyon too, which is quite warm in the summer. Lille wouldn't surprise me though as it basically has the same climate as Britain.

I think that was the match against Switzerland in Euro 2008.

I seem to recall one of the goals came when a pacey low cross stopped in a puddle in the six yard box.

I would thought it was unusual that far south

ITV seem to have lost their scoreboard.

It gets constant and evenly spread rainfall all year though, it doesn't have a Mediterranean climate, and the winters are rather chilly.

Was that another? Doesn't ring any bells.

That's the one!

I'd never have thought that Northern Ireland would be ahead. Shows what I know.

Good chance for Kovalenko

Replay shows he swiped at it somewhat.

Ukraine sure could do with a calibre of player like Schevchenko, or Rebrov.

For a split-second I thought Kovalenko had caught that better than he did.

If Ireland win this, and Germany win later on, then it would be set-up for a draw suiting both of them in their last match together.

They've been lacking in home-grown talent for a while now, the likes of Shakhtar etc are loaded with Brazilian players, among others.

Long time to try and sit back and defend this lead.
