Scart Connections to TV
i have a Freeview Box and a PS2 that i want to connect to a TV with only One Scart socket. there are two scart leads on the freeview box, is it possible to hook the freeview box to my tv and use the second scart port on the freeview box for my PS2, would this work?

In the majority of cases where a Freeview box has two SCARTs one is to link to the TV and one to a VCR (the SCARTs may be labelled TV and VCR) But there is no reason why you should not use something other than a video or DVD on the "VCR" SCART of the Freeview box. The Freeview box should be designed to pass through the VCR SCART to the TV SCART for when you want to watch videos/DVDs or in your case the PS2
So connect it like... Freeview "TV" SCART --> TV SCART Freeview "VCR" SCART --> PS2 Output. The only issue you might have with this is the PS2 probably doesn't have a full SCART (or none at all) on it. Pin 8 on a SCART is used as a switching signal to auto select the appropriate SCART input when you turn on the STB or put a video or DVD into play for example. In the case of a Freeview box it puts it into pass through mode. So to view the PS2 on the TV you will almost certainly need to either manually switch the Freeview box to the other SCART or put it into standby. A minor inconvenience though. But something to be aware of if you hook it all up and turn on everything and wonder why you can't see the PS2 on the telly
