if you end up needing 3 points to grab a best 3rd place spot then even if turkey beat the czechs in their last group game it might not be enough unless they get a couple of goals back here... they're on -4 goal difference already.

Turks still giving it a go and not settling for damage limitation, pleasingly.

Be interesting how this group finishes likely scenario is Spain and Croatia going through the motions for a draw.
Group runner up is probably playing Italy although croatia could lose Czech beat the Turks likely and someone is third even Croatia on four points |

They have to. As -Bandit- has pointed out they have to find a way of reducing the goal difference in this match otherwise their tournament is almost definitely over.
I know which team I'd feel more confident scoring against. |

Problem with this third place stuff is the earliest groups to finish will have teams and fans waiting around for a few days not knowing if they are through are not

UEFA might take the view the crowd disturbance in the match against the Czech Republic was so serious, not least flares being thrown onto the ground along with a firecracker, they cannot risk a repetition and boot Croatia out.

with the czechs knowing a win should secure a last 16 spot for them i can't see them rolling over & the turks sticking 3 or 4 past them which they may now have to do to even stand a chance... just getting 1 goal back here could make a big difference to them.

I never thought I'd say it, but Robbie Savage and Iain Dowie have been possibly my favourite co-commentators so far.
Tony Pulis not so much... I never thought i would here the words Good and Commentator in the same sentence for Robbie Savage |

As pullis said Turks don't seem that fussed I think they will gamble on beating the Czechs and hope it's enough for third place another draw and you would imagine this will be one the groups where third doesn't get through

The Czech Republic v Turkey game could be a cracker, now. The Czechs knowing a win should see them through and the Turks knowing that nothing but a decent win and it's curtains.

If Turkey don't score in the final 10 minutes Spain will have conceded 1 goal in their last 11 Euro Championship games. 1 goal in 990 minutes of football. In fact they didn't concede in the second half of the game before that so it's over 1000 minutes conceding 1 goal. That's obscene.

Did Spain play Croatia was it the last World Cup or last euros a game Croatia should have beaten them and Spain were somewhat lucky to win from memory

It actually might appeal more than Spain v Croatia as you can see another Germany v Poland approach in that one
Turkey will have to beat the Czechs by at least three clear goals in their final match to have any chance of being one of the best third place sides - and probably four, as I can't see 3 points and a negative goal difference being enough to take a side through. |

This commentator alongside Tyldsley seems more depressed than Lawro himself and doesn't seem to know any of the Turkish players names. Who is he?

From Spain, perhaps, but surely Croatia will go for the win in order to avoid Italy in the second round.

You are never sure with Spain how good they are till they play a good side.
I can't see them as the winners of this to be honest |

When is that game, because Croatia will need time to regroup after the events of their match against the Czech Republic, on and off the field. It was not something to simply shrug off easily or routinely and focus on the next game.
