I wonder if Sweden have decided the best way of getting anything out of the game is not to give Italy any reason to come out of third gear, particularly as I have the impression 3rd gear is the highest gear this shot shy/goal shy Sweden have.

Some of these "fouls" are extremely soft. Ref needs to let the game flow more, he's just encouraging diving.

Lovely cross. Deserved to have someone on the end of it.

Beautiful through ball from Ibrahimovic, pity he wasn't on the receiving end as well - shot ballooned hopelessly.

Swedish far more assured in possession than they were against Ireland but still lacking creativity in spades.
Italy just coasted through that first half. |

if italy just up it a gear or 2 in the 2nd half this match is theirs for the taking... they look so comfortable.

Yeah, Italy look like their just going through the motions so far, they're not really having to do that much to contain the Swedes.
Sweden once again reminding me why I wanted Denmark to win their play-off. |

Has a team ever played successive games in the Euros without having a shot on target - Sweden have so far clocked up 135 utterly sterile minutes.

Man United fans still want to pay £10m a year for ibrahimovic to turn up every 3 or 4 games?
He would be a total waste of money and squad place |

Disappointing first half as Italy took it too easy. Sweden - I don't like them as they barge and foul their way about and then look astonished if the ref calls a foul against them.
Heres hoping they lose the game today and Italy can then get out of the group. |

Italians beginning to revert to type now with the sneaky fouls they're committing. Quote:

Indeed, it's plausible that this tournament could herald Iceland as now being the premier team in that part of Europe. |

You might be right, but I don't think he can be fairly judged by his performance in this team - as far as I can tell he is surround by dross or at least players who have given a fantastic impersonation of being dross.

It's gone from being lively to being scrappy.

I thought it from the minute he was linked to them and I am using this tournament to back up my point in all honesty!

This is not quite the best game I have ever seen.

Italy really ought to pick things up and slot in a couple of goals; they really don't want to end up losing (obviously via a fluke/freak goal) to this terrible team and, worse, inflicting more games involving Sweden on the rest of us.

Glad Zaza is now on.
Good defensive challenge by Kallstrom. |

Florenzi's impressed me on the left for Italy today.
I'll be surprised if Darmian gets his place back any time soon. |

Just as well for Zlatan that he was given offside.
Just a few more chances coming for both teams now. |

All those people at work who were unhappy to have missed watching this match don't realise just how lucky they are. My sole interest now is can Sweden make it to 180 minutes without a shot on target.
Ah, and good old Ibrahimovic even with an open goal from an offside position missed the target. What a team! Go Sweden, go - and I really do mean go. |
