It's downloading fine on my iPhone 6, then when I'm trying to install it, I'm getting the 'Failed to install update' message. Bloody frustrating.

Some good updates on WhatsApp. You can ask Siri to send messages or make a call and answer calls on lockscreen like a normal phone call among other things.

So far the 10 update on my iPhone 6S+ has gone OK. I then went to do it on the 5C one my parents share and that has no issues yet.

How do you get siri to send a whatsapp message? It won't seem to regardless of the fact I've allowed it in App Support in the Siri menu.

Updated my 6S yesterday morning within 10mins, no issues at all.

I've noticed it's much snappier and respsonsive, apps seem to load up faster and the animations of going in and out of folders is much faster aswell. Liking all the iOS 10 additions too. My favourite has to be the raise to wake feature. Shame that 5S/6 users miss out on it though.

It's vastly improved over iOS 9 isn't it? Probably the first year I can recall where an update hasn't slowed down the handset (obviously I can't speak for people with an iPhone 5 for example).

It is a shame but the cynical part of me wonders if that's to get those people to upgrade?

Must admit I'm loving the Unlock my Mac feature in Watch OS3 too.

I just said "Hey Siri send a WhatsApp message to..." and then it allowed me to dictate/send the message.

Wonder if it might be cured by a soft restart? I assume you're on iOS 10.0.1?

Yeah on iOS 10, using a 6S plus, soft reset didn't fix, all I get is a message on the Siri screen saying; "Sorry, you'll need to continue in the app."

I hate that you have to press the button to then enter your passcode to unlock your phone now instead of the swipe.

I thought the point of the new unlock method was that if you pressed the home button to turn the screen on, it wouldn't unlock the phone and thus you wouldn't miss all your notifications. But it still happens.

It's one of the worst usability features of iOS.

Have you definitely updated the actual Whatsapp app?

Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button

You're welcome

You still have to press the home button on the iPhone 6 and older models.

The new Apple WatchOS 3 update is pretty great too.

I've done a soft reset, with no luck.

Sent an email to whatsapp to see if they can help...

Did you turn on WhatsApp in the Siri App Support settings? If you did maybe you should turn it off and back on again and see if it works and do another soft reset.

Yeah it's not just the additions, it's actually improved performance which is always nice

The one thing I'm not sure about is on the messages you've got the pictures etc you can send in a text(not iMessage) but when I try to send any to my wife it just says not delivered?

Is your wife using iOS 10 too? If not, that'd be why. For some reason using that feature to an iPhone etc with iOS 9 and below seems to cause the not delivered.

Yeah we are both using iOS 10.

Just tried again, can't send anything other than text via normal text, but if I turn on iMessage it works fine?

It's no big deal just thought that since the options are available when in normal text mode that it would work. Strange.

Can anyone else get the pictures/live writing working in normal texts?

They only work via iMessage.

.1 beta 1 releases are now out for all platforms on the developer track.

The only major update seems to be the addition of portrait mode for the iPhone 7 Plus camera, enabling the software-driven bokeh effects shown off in the launch keynote.

Seems to be just bug fixes and minor improvements for all other platforms.

You just pick up the phone and the screen comes on. Don't press the home button and you can see your notifications. I'm assuming from your post you're using a 6s?

10.0.2 is out apparently, but I suspect it's iPhone 7 only - my 6s is apparently up to date.
