It is. Plus the phone gets quite warm also.
I've had worse drain on other betas from iOS 8 & 9. Cant tell if mine gets warm as I have a leather Apple case on mine.

Although animations and general responsiveness far better, I'm noticing faster battery drain on this version too.

I'm not particularly a "power" user, so it's not been that terrible for me, although today hasn't been great I suppose - unplugged fully charged at 8am and at the moment, i'm on 25%.

Makes you wonder if it's early because of the battery issues ??

They are really spoiling us with all these releases.

Hope this beta fixes it.

The sleep clicking sound has changed. Sounds like a camera shutter now.

Is that what it's supposed to be? Sounds like like a camera shutter. Well maybe a car door.

It does appear to be minor changes on the face of it, so i'd imagine the bulk of the update is under the hood stuff.

I tend to wait to see what EverythingApplePro on Youtube say about it as the guy is usually pretty thorough when he goes through each update.

We'll see how the battery goes though - I charged to 100% and updated to Beta 5 without unplugging and unplugged at 11pm fully charged and updated.

I still don't know why they don't do something like the Pebble Watch's "idle mode". They could check to see if the phone is unused and on a flat surface for at least half an hour and, if so, automatically activate low power mode. It could arguably extend the battery life by a decent amount, especially for most people who don't use their phone overnight.

Not sure why they are changing the sleep click - thought it was good as it was with the little echo effect.

Did read something about how it was a bit like the camera shutter sound though, and how there could be scenarios where it might create the wrong idea - eg a guy in a lift with a woman, and it sounding like he was taking a picture of her. Whether or not that would be a factor I don't know.

No, it looks scheduled. All of the following were released yesterday:

Xcode 8 beta 5
macOS 10.12 beta 5
iOS 10 beta 5
watchOS 3 beta 5
tvOS 10 beta 5

Fair enough

Battery wise, it's looking good so far. Only down to 37% so far from last night. I fully expect i'll top 36 hours with this one charge.

That's pretty impressive. What i think i'll try on the next charge cycle is manually putting it in to low power mode when i go to bed and turning that off when i get up. It'll be interesting to see how it'll affect the battery life overall.

I'm not really a "power" user. I listen to music a lot on my phone, but I might make one or two calls a day on it and I go through phases without really playing any games as well.

Sometimes at weekends, if i'm home, the phone can sit there unused for over 12 hours
