Freeview and 1080?
Looking at a Technika-22e21b TV in Tesco and asked a member of staff and he said that it's only 1080 from a blu-ray player not Freeview HD, just 720 made up to 1080? True or false?
Also, it has USB recording, anyone have any experience with it? |

Then again you would have been better off asking the local ginger tom cat this question, you would have got a better answer than some Tesco sales muppet. ![]() Mind you that TV isn't Freeview HD anyway so the question only really applies if you pair it with an external device that can receive Freeview HD. |

If you look at the full spec on the Tesco web site it says "Built-in Freeview HD No". That means it is an obsolete set which will not receive any Freeview HD channels not any of the new SD channels which use the HD (DVB2) standard. |

Ah, so the TV screen is 1080 but the receiver isn't, so no HD channels.
Any recommendations for a 22"? Don't need a big TV. |

22 inch by today's standards is almost pocket sized.
About the only advantage to having a 22in TV with DVB-T2 capabilities is not so much being able to receive the existing HD channels and some additional SD channels but just in case every mux switches over to using DVB-T2 mode at some point in the future. You may not see much, if any, benefit to watching HD on such a small screen at any sort of reasonable viewing distance. There is this Samsung 22in with Freeview HD http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/3387586.htm |

It's the loss of channels that causing me to look for another TV, compared to my 16" it'll seem enormous.

![]() My mum had a 26in Wharfedale TV that was replaced by a 32in LG. The LG was only a couple of inches wider than the Wharfedale, mainly due to the latter's very thick bezel round the screen compared to the fag paper thin bezel on the LG. |
