Galaxy S5 - Marshmallow update - is it worth it (on Three so does SuperVoice work ok
Hi there,
I have a Three Galaxy S5 and have been holding out on the Marshmallow update (like I do with every update). Is it much better and has anybody found any issues (I've heard of people having trouble connectiong to Bluetooth car kits etc) and is the battery life any good after the upgrade? Also does all Three's SuperVoice (VoLTE/800mhz 4G) work ok with the update? Thanks Mark. |

I haven't had any big problems with Marshmallow on the S5. Three banded firmware has been out since May. 4G 800MHz connections are rare but they show up sometimes. Have not tried it for voice calls on 800MHz so cant say.

I have noticed with mine but I flashed mine not upgraded the data signal randomly drops when I have 4g/3g/gsm enabled |

I believe I had the update flash up a couple of times in the past as an over the air update, but was not ready for it at the time (mainly as I wanted to make sure everything was backed up before doing it).
I thought I could just go into the phones menus and do a search for software update in there to do it (like I have done in the past), but it's saying that the phone is up to date (on Android 5)? I have also tried connecting to Kies, but it's saying that the latest version of Three software is what is on the phone (version 5). Just wondering if they have had issues with it and have withdrawn it, or if it will give me the option once again in the future to upgrade? Thanks, Mark. |

HI,
I have Galaxy Note 3, February of this year after holding out I upgraded to Marshmallow 6 via Kies, I found it to be a huge mistake. My phone stopped being my phone, it's battery started to drain very quickly, I had little control over App updates, the phone didn't work/feel the way it had previously, it behaved buggy. I played and tinkered and got the phone back, kind of,-- pre update. One of the most annoying things, the phone would freeze, I had enough. So with all my Data backed up, last weekend I reset the phone, I wasn't expecting it to go back to 5 but a clean install of 6 but it is back at 5 and the phone is behaving/feels so much better to use. Many have upgraded to 6 without issue, my phone wasn't one of them. |

I still haven't had my update pop up yet on my Three branded S5. I am still on Lolipop.
