I have say that when you see the teams at these Euros, nearly all the teams have not got that many great strikers. Germany and Spain have only got one decent striker and their backup strikers are average but England have got Kane Sturridge Rooney Vardy and Rashford which looks like the best strikeforce in the tournament as no other team has got so many good strikers to choose from

Kane has been crap so far so I would not consider him that world class.

We probably have the greatest strength in depth of any country at the moment but...they got to perform. I rate Kane highly and eom my bet on him being top scorer but I saw last year how he struggled at the U21s. I can only think that whereas he's very comfortable in the Tottnenham squad, in the England squad he's not and that affects his form. I think the others can all bring their club form to England.

I would say that whilst they do have some good strikers it hasn't been evident at all. I would even mark Vardy down as a striker considering how offside he would have been had the ball come off a team mate in the Wales game, that's a position good strikers shouldn't be in.

They're good but they're no Will Griggs.

Actually I totally agree with this. Best strikers, worst defence. What it does come down to is whether the manager is going to play them effectively or not. I don't want to turn this into another Roy bashing thread, he got it right in the last game so full cred to him for that. But he needs to build on that now going forwards. If we are going to stand a chance of winning we need to outscore the opposition as we are always going to leak a goal thanks to our suspect defending and goal keeper.

We have good strikers, but hodgson doesn't pick them.
It's the defence and midfield that can't give them the service they need, which is why they generally get caught out in the later stages. England being England, they could always go and win the whole thing, but chances are they won't. |
