England and Wales wins will see N. Irish through if they lose by no more than 1 goal I think.
Our best chance still comes from the other groups though, was always unlikely that this group would yield the results we're looking for. |

It's a bit more complex than that but not by much - if Wales beat Russia and England beat Slovakia, we need to better Slovakia's GD by one. So in other words get beaten by Germany by one less goal than England beat Slovakia.

Third in group in a, b, f plays the winner of the Germany group.
So Albania are behind Slovakia so does that mean it becomes the best of b v f |

As it stands NI will be through tonight. Czech Rep 1-0 down and must win to overtake NI.

I'll get worried about that if Turkey go 3-0 up, until then I'm cheering every Turkish attack.
It would even leave open the chance of all 4 'home nations' going through, had assumed it would be Republic v NI for the last of the 3rd place qualifier spots but if Turkey win it can be both. |

Itv4 have decided turkey will still go out with a 1-0 win.
But that isn't the case at all |

Really? They need 4 clear goals to go through.
Unfortunately for them that means relying on Neither Ireland or Sweden winning (certainly possible arguably probable) and Portugal losing to Hungary (even a draw would take Portugal to 3 points and clear of Turkey on GD). |

They need a big win to overtake Northern Ireland on goal difference or they're definitely gone.
Hungary beat Portugal Iceland draw with or beat Austria Italy beat Ireland Belgium beat Sweden they will still go through with a 1nil by my calculations |

Yeah in my head I had it as them either overtaking NI or going home, forgetting the other games still to come.

For once we might get a full on exciting contest at these Euros with both sides going for the win. Ireland because it's win or go home and Italy because their backup players are looking to catch the eye and they have nothing to lose with their place at the top of the group assured.

If Albania qualify, Wales play Albania. If Albania fail to qualify, Wales play NI. |
