Is the S5 still a decent phone?
I have an iPhone 6 at the moment but I am sick of and bored of iOS and the iOS 10 announcement did nothing for me to be frank. I am thinking of eBaying it and buying a budget Android. Obviously some budget androids are carp but a friend has a new S5 he doesn't want and is looking £140 for it. I am thinking of buying it over the usual budget carp such as Moto G etc.
Whats your thoughts? |

I have had my S5 for over 2 years and it's still a great phone (in some ways better than the S6 with SD memory card slot and being waterproof as well).
The only thing I don't like is Samsung's launcher (TouchWiz), but this can soon be sorted out with installing something like Nova Launcher from the Play store. |

Whats your thoughts? If you're done with iPhone and it's out of warrenty contract etc try jailbreaking. It gives iOS a new lease of life. |

There is nothing Earth shattering that you can't do with the S5 despite its age.

I'm still using my S5. Had it 2 years, I thought about upgrading, but it does everything I want, so went down the sim only route.

I loved the phone but the camera is shocking in any indoor environment.

It may not be quite as good as the iPhone's one, but I normally only ever have it miss-read and not let me in say every 20th attempt. Have have had a problem before when I've been doing some work with my hands and have damaged the surface of my fingers and had to relog the finger print, but I'm guessing all phones would be like that if the fingerprint is different? |

Had mine for just over a year. I upgraded from the S3 and it has been a good move for me.
My Wife upgraded from the S3 to the Xperia Z3 and she prefers the Sony to Samsung. I have found now after a year of use, the battery is starting to drain a little bit quicker, but all in all, it's still a decent phone. Camera could be better as it does take a wee while for the capture to happen if you are in low light etc.. (Probably processor based) If it's still going strong this time next year, I may not need to upgrade, which is good, because there are no new phones out recently that make me think wow at the moment. |

I was on contract with EE, but went SIM only with Life Mobile, who run on EE (2G/3G only). £5.95/month (via uSwitch) for 1,000 minutes, 5,000 texts and 1GB of data. I thought about upgrading to the S7, but there's nothing wrong with my S5 and I'm saving a lot every month going SIM only. |
