Received a text this afternoon from EE saying there's been suspicious activity on my account so they've reset the password and locked it, to unlock it call 150.

Called 150, long long delays getting through, spoke to a woman who said this is a widespread issue and quite a lot of customers have had the same issue.

Confirmed a few details, claimed she couldn't find my online account, then could and that id' receive an email in 24-48 hours to reset my login details.

Great eh!

So if anyone else has had this issue, now you know, you're not alone.

It doesn't sound like the phone isn't working, just that the OP cannot get into their online 'My EE' account.

Indeed. There's something odd going on, just looked on line and on the My EE ap, and the usage data is all zero'd

Via my PC, MyEE says I have 0MB of 0MB left of data. The app shows it correctly. Been like this a few days now. I'll try a live chat when they open.

Yeah, it's just the My EE app i cant get in to on anything!

Was a bit worrying when i confirmed all my account details with her and she said she couldn't find any record of me having an My EE account. Then when i told her i've been using it for the last 3 years, she said, ohhhh, i've found it.

I'm hoping she had found it and wasn't just saying that to get rid of me!

Still haven't received the Email - although she did say 24-48 hours.

Still no email.

Get the feeling I was fobbed off!

Suppose I best get back in touch with them... Anyone else had this issue with EE over the last few days then?

Some online accounts have had multiple failed login attempts from differing locations (I had the same text on Saturday and reset my password Sunday) - believed to be from a database of email addresses illegally harvested.

It's a precaution to protect customers accounts and quite frankly I'd rather they did that that someone managing to get into my account, harvest my personal details and wreak havoc.

Short term pain for long term gain. I think EE should be applauded for being so pro-active. Anyone complaining about delays getting through to 150 about it - I respect your annoyance but please look at the bigger picture.

Usually not in these cases. Another website will have been hacked, and knowing that people tend to use the same usernames and passwords on multiple sites, hackers try them on other common websites to see if they work.

I'm wondering how EE have determined the cause is stolen email addresses and not something mundane like a mis-configured proxy (bungled IP share etc) at an ISP?

Because they will have a team of people employed to establish things like this?

That's obvious. The question was 'how' not 'who'.

You need to call 150 to get your account unlocked first then request a password reset.

Already done this several times, along with tweets and direct messages. Still nothing.
