He wasn't a great, but I want to put a little twist on things and mention Jan Koller here.
The reason being that he was one of those players who I only ever really saw when an international tournament was on and I had fun watching him in them. An absolute menace in the air and a truly impressive record of 55 goals in 91 internationals. Rosicky got mentioned in the OP and I've seen plenty of him in club football too. Same with other teammates of Koller like Poborsky, Berger, Baros and Nedved who actually was a great. Koller would show up every 2 years on my tv screen and play his part in what was often a fun Czech Republic team to watch. Big respect for the big man. |

Del Piero.
Had the pleasure of meeting him, too, in Turin, when he was at his peak. The signed shirt I got that day is still one of my prized possessions. |

Going mainly on tournament finals, apart from the already mentioned: Bergkamp, Totti, Boban, Cafu, Suker, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Gullit, Thuram, Pirlo, Milla, Stojkovic, Brolin, Davids and probably dozens more if I had better memory.

The World Cup in 94 had so many iconic players, you could write a list just of those that participated in that one!

Jamie Vardy
I am sure he may be the illegitimate son of Der Bomber He will be recognized as a true great soon. Seriously, I loved watching Hagi in his prime. Romania were a super side for a brief period. |

Mario Kempes and Ossie Ardiles. As a lad, I'd never heard of them but they lit up Argentina 78 with their goals and attacking play.
