There have been so many great players over the years that have been a joy to watch but i have to say there are some players i love watching because they do stuff that others players cant do

The players i like watching are

Zinedine Zidane
George Best
Diego Maradona
Lionel Messi
Andres Iniesta
Tomas Rosicky, when he is fit
Ronaldinho
Gheorghe Hagi

What players did you enjoy watching when you saw them playing

He wasn't a great, but I want to put a little twist on things and mention Jan Koller here.

The reason being that he was one of those players who I only ever really saw when an international tournament was on and I had fun watching him in them. An absolute menace in the air and a truly impressive record of 55 goals in 91 internationals.

Rosicky got mentioned in the OP and I've seen plenty of him in club football too. Same with other teammates of Koller like Poborsky, Berger, Baros and Nedved who actually was a great. Koller would show up every 2 years on my tv screen and play his part in what was often a fun Czech Republic team to watch. Big respect for the big man.

Del Piero.

Had the pleasure of meeting him, too, in Turin, when he was at his peak. The signed shirt I got that day is still one of my prized possessions.

Lucky you, count me in as jealous!

The nearest I got to seeing him was at Socceraid a few years back!

Going mainly on tournament finals, apart from the already mentioned: Bergkamp, Totti, Boban, Cafu, Suker, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Gullit, Thuram, Pirlo, Milla, Stojkovic, Brolin, Davids and probably dozens more if I had better memory.

The World Cup in 94 had so many iconic players, you could write a list just of those that participated in that one!

John Aldridge at the top, naturally.

Jamie Vardy

I am sure he may be the illegitimate son of Der Bomber

He will be recognized as a true great soon.

Seriously, I loved watching Hagi in his prime. Romania were a super side for a brief period.

Mario Kempes and Ossie Ardiles. As a lad, I'd never heard of them but they lit up Argentina 78 with their goals and attacking play.
