I could write a book on this but OK I'll give one example which should shut you up on this subject forever (if you've any sense). If you are genuine please don't take that the wrong way, just quietly go away and study for an hour or two, until you''re ready to comment If you're geuinely curious you'll see it, I'm sure. I was the biggest Coldplay fan ever, and they're amazing live..but there's a reason behind it and now I won't have anything to do with them.

So, just one example...

You know the occult meaning of the number 3, yes? (I guess maybe not so I'll give a brief shorthand.) It's the trinity, creation itself.

Now I could spend hours and hours picking through their lyrics and imagery and showing you every little detail, but I have more positive things to spend my time on, so I think and hope this may be the start of a shortcut. Look at the 3rd line on this album cover (an album on which they sing of the devil):

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...Myloxyloto.jpg

OTO. I don't think it could be spelled out any more clearly, could it? Remember Peaches Geldof and her OTO tattoo, just for starters? If you Google OTO and the Olympics and are genuinely naive you might get a bit of a fright.

OTO:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordo_Templi_Orientis

If you want to 'play around' with this stuff then that's up to you, but sorry I'm keeping well clear.

And if you don't think this is the plan since the 60s and The Beatles just search for the mirrored (it is always back to front and/or mirrored) Sgt Peppers album cover that shows Aleister Crowley supporting the capstone of the pyramid.

Aw shucks , i meant to give you one example only and now I've given three or so ”

If we're going down the esoteric avenue, yes, you're quite right actually. Though like someone else said, Genesis P.Orridge is someone who's been more overtly into this stuff. whilst the more famous artists will have to make their references obscure but in-your-face at the same time - helllooo Madonna! Like A Prayer has particular resonance when played backwards to a particular tribe in society... No surprise that Marc Almond covered it, he's been a dabbler to in the past.

I do think however, if you go looking specifically for this stuff, your already giving it 'power' to some extent.

If you can't get tickets for Glastonbury you can recreate the experience by sitting at the bottom of your garden whilst watching a DVD of the bands through your living room window - make sure there are plenty of flags to obscure your view, pour a bucket of water over yourself at regular intervals and get some neighbours to chatter incessantly over the fence.

I don't suppose the BBC will be doing a red button thing where you can choose from different acts to watch live, by any chance?

I'm not normally bothered about planning to watch a particular act live, but I really want to see Chvrches (and possibly Bootleg Beatles and Cyndi Lauper).

Yes there is red button coverage, I can't remember the exact times though but think its on all three evenings. You can also watch full sets from the main stages live on the BBC Glastonbury website and there will be videos to watch after the event too.

Ah that's brilliant, thanks for that .

I've found out the times for those acts from the Glastonbury site, so I'll keep tabs on the telly and bbc site in case they're on.

Haha....Love it! I've never been to Glastonbury and have no interest in doing so. But from what I've experienced of seeing various bands stadium shows over the years I'd imagine that's a pretty accurate summing up of what a large number of Glasto attendees will be experiencing over the next few days.

I'd go if it wasn't for the camping. I can't be doing with camping.

I'd like to see Ronnie Spector, if they show her set.

BBC coverage is usually spoiled by too much gabbing from unnecessary presenters, and I can't stand the smug Jo Whiley.

ZZ Top are good. Looks weird with the one guy on the keyboards though, I always thought they were both guitarists.

Yeah, agreed. One can only suspect that a large majority didn't actually know the songs or who they were. The other thing that struck me is what a blooming great guitarist Billy Gibbons is. Not that this reviewer appears to agree! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/wha...t-deceptively/
a quote from the review.....'A cover version of Jimmy Hendrix's Foxy Lady served as a reminder of what an average guitarist (and indeed singer) Billy Gibbons actually is'....... I couldn't agree less with that statement, I thought the Hendrix cover was great. Each to their own as ever it would seem.

Personally I've never really 'got' Muse, I don't know a lot of their music, from what I do know much of it sounds the same to me. They certainly know how to put a show on though!

Yep, ridiculous isn't it! And a clue to the reviewers (lack of) supposed knowledge of what their talking about is probably somewhat evident in their spelling of Jimi! I'll check that song out later, thanks for the recommendation.
