Good half. Credit where credit is due, Henderson has been as good as I've seen him, apart from his deliveries from crosses.
Wilshere will be off at half time, his lack of fitness is embarrassing. Sturridge too selfish.
Overall good stuff though

How has that been a 'good' performance? They've done f all but score.

Seriously, a top team like Spain would have no trouble breaking this England defence. They'd even get a few more shots on target.

Wilshere is England's best midfielder, but the guy hardly played any football for his club this season.......it shows. Should be focusing on his club career and regainng his fitness, not England caps.

Get the ball to Clyne as much as possible.

England need to put one of these chances away, you just know a Sucker Punch is coming from Slovakia

Same as the first 2 games, we are wasting our chances and it's costing us. I would not be at all surprised if Slovakia caught us out like Russia did.

No, we are doing what we usually do, have lots of the ball, but put in terrible crosses, and mess up the final ball, hence why we are not scoring or looking like doing so.

Wilshere off, Rooney on.
Then give it 15 minutes and see.

well so far the changes haven't made any difference... only clyne has looked good plus vardy putting himself about. henderson & wilshere have added nothing to the midfield...

Dominant in possession but rather clueless once they get to the penalty area.

I aye impressed.

No,,we normally have plenty of the ball in the middle of the park, don't look to go,forward, make no probing runs and don't create chances.... This tournament has been nothing like that.

He hasn't played much in the past two years, compare that to Kane who has been over-played in the same time frame.

It has been a fascinating first half seeing how many ways Henderson can contrive to mishit a cross or a free-kick or Wilshere can lose possession - at least Wilshere can be a decent player and not just a clunker.

Slovakia have come for a point which means they'll probably win 1-0 with their only shot on target.

Rooney on for Wilshere at half time

I think Rooney will be introduced early on in the next half and should stabilise the England midfield. Other than that, it's just a case of making more out of the ample opportunities that have arisen.

Anything other than 4-0 at half time would probably be castigated as woeful by the unrealistic doom merchants on here.

Willshire should come off very poor should never have gone

Decent first half. Not nearly as bad as some people are making out, we've been well on top and carved out a few decent half-chances for ourselves. Hopefully we'll capitalise on this pressure with an early second half goal, and we'll go on to comfortably win, but we need to keep up this kind of intensity when we're without position.

Lallana, Henderson, Clyne, Vardy and Dier have all been excellent (although Henderson's set piece delivery needs a lot of work.) Bertrand has been fine on the left but he's not really been tested defensively, but he's not offering a lot going forward, Rose would be better in this situation. Cahill and Smalling have been largely untested too. Wilshere has been awful, misplacing nearly every pass and running into countless blind alleys. Sturridge needs to get in the game more, has hardly seen position and finds himself constantly needing to come deep to touch the ball.

Put Rooney on for Wilshere, and just keep plugging away. We've been good.

But will it be England's? They just don't look like scoring unless there's a major change in the way we play.

I never understand points like this. I thought we'd all accepted by now that we're not the level of Spain etc?

We've dominated the game, played some nice stuff and even had chances.

Bossing the game for the 3rd game in a row, and I can't work out if were making the opposition look average or the opposition are actually a pile of rubbish

England have been OK but Henderson and Wilshire have been absolutely wank.

Maybe Wilshere shouldn't have started. Even though I wanted him at the tournament, he IS lacking in fitness. Would be a good option to bring on in the second half. He hasn't done himself any favours this half.
