Once more England fail to win their group. Only 1 win from their 3 matches in a group that wasn't exactly filled with world beaters.
It's deja vu all over again. |

On the bright side it looks like we have a lot of decent young players now. Could be promising.

He passed it back. lol
What's the point of getting it down into the corner only to then not bother crossing and play it backwards up the flank and back to the central defenders. Then go down the other flank to not cross again and bring it back to the central defenders. Then attempt to get through the middle and either have a long shot blocked or skied over the bar. |

I think every England performance will be terrible in your books no matter what.
If we play well I will say so, tonight was far from good, nevermind great. |

Adventureless display from England. Knew better as a Northern Irish man than to rely on them though.
Well done, Wales - by far the better team this tournament. |

Zero fresh ideas for the last 35 minutes, just rehashing the same formula, relying on Clyne to kick the ball against the back of a Slovakia defender.

I have a complaint as all three of our matches so far have been very Frustrating. There has been no real improvement I'm glad we're through but it's lucky we are.

No but I think they could spring into life. I don't think we can play much better. May be finish a bit better but we're not going to step it up. You feel all the other big teams could step it up significantly.

It was good in the first half and poor in the second but against a negative team only interested in 0-0. You'd think it was a catastrophic performance and result the way people on here are getting on.

Very frustrating match. England's wastefulness was frustrating but so was Slovakia's negativity. Too many games in this tournament have followed this pattern for me. Lots of negative sides and lots of teams who haven't been good enough at breaking them down. I hope things will open up a bit in the knockout rounds.
We looked like we had given up in that second half, they were just walking around. |
