Once more England fail to win their group. Only 1 win from their 3 matches in a group that wasn't exactly filled with world beaters.

It's deja vu all over again.

On the bright side it looks like we have a lot of decent young players now. Could be promising.

What's the point of getting it down into the corner only to then not bother crossing and play it backwards up the flank and back to the central defenders. Then go down the other flank to not cross again and bring it back to the central defenders. Then attempt to get through the middle and either have a long shot blocked or skied over the bar.

So tonight was a good one was it???

If we play well I will say so, tonight was far from good, nevermind great.

The combination of him and Hoddle is an advertisement for deafness.

No but I think they could spring into life. I don't think we can play much better. May be finish a bit better but we're not going to step it up. You feel all the other big teams could step it up significantly.

Well done, Wales - by far the better team this tournament.”

Really? England have been poor but Wales have arguably turned up for one match. They were not great at all against Slovakia or England.

We have one here, yet decide not to play him!

Do we ever win a match at a major tournament when it is shown on ITV

I really don't expect anything else from England in a tournament

Switched over when Wales went 2 up, watched their game instead, looks to have been the better

Zero fresh ideas for the last 35 minutes, just rehashing the same formula, relying on Clyne to kick the ball against the back of a Slovakia defender.

It was good in the first half and poor in the second but against a negative team only interested in 0-0. You'd think it was a catastrophic performance and result the way people on here are getting on.

No luck involved, England have dominated all 3 games, their finishing up front has been the problem

Oh we say that all the time, they never come to anything. Alli and Kane seem to be going down the 'good for club, poor for country' route as well now.

With Payet there is always the chance for a bit of magic, who have we got that is capable of producing when it matters??

It was - great chance to win the group against very limited opponents thrown away. Completely catastrophic.

The way to beat teams like that is to put constant pressure on them, we didn't do that though, we just walked around the pitch. Even if you are getting your crosses wrong, you just need to keep putting them in there. We made it far too easy for them to defend.

We looked like we had given up in that second half, they were just walking around.
