No but I think they could spring into life. I don't think we can play much better. May be finish a bit better but we're not going to step it up. You feel all the other big teams could step it up significantly.
Yes France have better players than England in nearly every position

Well after a promising first half, that second half turned out to be absolute tripe. The moment they threw on a 2nd left back to nullify our threat from the right hand side, it was never going to happen. Slovakia well and truly parked the bus, and frankly, many sides better than us probably would have struggled to break them down.

We move forward regardless. Clyne MOTM for me, and now we hope for a Portugal win.

Really? England have been poor but Wales have arguably turned up for one match. They were not great at all against Slovakia or England.
Oh well, let's just say that neither team will trouble the trophy.

I can't wait for the good teams to finally get into gear.

On the bright side it looks like we have a lot of decent young players now. Could be promising.
Look if you not going to be serious about England being Shit

I have a complaint as all three of our matches so far have been very Frustrating. There has been no real improvement I'm glad we're through but it's lucky we are.
I'm half Welsh so my perspective is probably a bit different.

No luck involved, England have dominated all 3 games, their finishing up front has been the problem
Not sure I agree - despite the possession, how many clear cut chances have we made?

Well done, Wales - by far the better team this tournament.
Of course they are, thats why England totally dominated the game last Thursday

It was good in the first half and poor in the second but against a negative team only interested in 0-0. You'd think it was a catastrophic performance and result the way people on here are getting on.
We were at walking pace for most of the match, if we actually tested them, with a bit of running we might actually have scored.

Today was poor, we should have at least tested their keeper far more then we did.

This time next week, extra time begins before we crash out to Portugal on penalties
We won't make it to extra time against Portugal, they'll slice our defence in half.

Rooney was poor when he came on.

Can't believe any pundit defending that boring football tonight. Van Gaal was heavily criticised when United were putting in performances like that week on week.

Not going to be *another* tournament where our inability to win the group hinders our chance of going far in the competition, is it?
That's a yes, then.

England vs Hungary would be almost like winning the group.

Quite sobering to realise that had England not got that last minute winner against Wales, they would have ended up with three draws.

(I suppose you could turn that round and say that England would have had two wins had they not conceded in the last minute against Russia, but still...)

It was - great chance to win the group against very limited opponents thrown away. Completely catastrophic.
Yep, dominated every game against poor opposition and couldn't finish well in any of them. It's been crap from England so far.

so all the worry was about our defence when in fact it's our attack that's letting us down...

He should have been sacked after 2014 ,, disgraceful allowing the old duffer to carry on after that

1 shot on target isn't good really considering the amount of ball we had..

2nd place so potentially Portugal or Hungary who will be as defensive so need an early goal.

Exactly, no point having the ball if you don't test the keeper.

They've not even won a game yet.

So Wales, a lesser squad than England's, ability wise if you believe that manage to beat the two teams that England couldn't. Thank f for that Sturridge winner otherwise we may have been heading home. Still, it's not always how you start a tournament but how you finish it. Italy 1982 springs to mind. Mind you Italy were a much better side than this England one.

It seems like we are trying too hard at times. It was like watching Arsenal, pass it to death but no end product.

Can have all the domination in the world but I never really felt we were a threat in front of goal. There weren't any "should have scored" moments for me. I jumped off my couch a grand total of zero times. It just felt like whenever we got close to their box we went for wild shots or fell over ourselves. I think there was a period of 5 minutes where we genuinely looked dangerous. The rest was mediocre.
