No but I think they could spring into life. I don't think we can play much better. May be finish a bit better but we're not going to step it up. You feel all the other big teams could step it up significantly.
If England's finishing/delivery was better, they would have been 2-0 up at half time. I feel like that's all they're really missing.

1 shot on target isn't good really considering the amount of ball we had..

2nd place so potentially Portugal or Hungary who will be as defensive so need an early goal.
It's still potentially any of them although Hungary will sit in for a point against Portugal

Lmao, Gary Cahill is "disappointed" that they didn't win with all the possession that they had. Even I can tell this manager and the pundits that possession means nothing unless you are doing something with. How about actually playing direct, attacking football for once?

65 shots in 3 games. Scored 3 goals.
How does that compare to the other sides in the tournament?

So frustrating. I don't think we were terrible. Just not technically good enough to play through or round teams.

Hope we avoid Portugal.

I don't blame hodgson except for the disgrace of bringing and playing Wislhere.

Just think, if England had made sure of the win against Russia, and they should have, considering Wales thrashed them 3-0 tonight

Tonight's match would not have been that important

It's the difference between possibly getting Portugal or Albania in the next match

England (as always) do things, the hard way

sticking it in the net is the hardest part of the game, where are we going to get a Ronaldo or Messi from ?

I blame Sterling
Funny thing is he might have given us a better game. At least he's an actual winger.

As said previously I think James Milner would've been good here with all the poor crossing we had on display.

Over dramatic as usual.

Through to the knockout stage, thats what matters.

No idea. Fair enough, the opposition parked the bus but we should be good enough to get past it, or at least ask more question of the keeper who didn't have much to do all night.

oh well better than Losing I guess. looks to be either iceland or portugal in the last 16, bad news is the france likely await in the quarter finals should we get past that, but there was little hope of getting past the quarter finals anyway.

Bilic and Dixon can see what Wright can't.

Can have all the domination in the world but I never really felt we were a threat in front of goal. There weren't any "should have scored" moments for me. I jumped off my couch a grand total of zero times. It just felt like whenever we got close to their box we went for wild shots or fell over ourselves. I think there was a period of 5 minutes where we genuinely looked dangerous. The rest was mediocre.
Perfect analysis.

I agree with you.

We never really tested their keeper enough, there was that shot in the first half and then nothing at all after that.
Just terrible all round really.

Agree with Bilic. Possession is nothing unless you have quality in the final third.

Wrighty's punditry has been poor this tournament.
