It's not irrelevant; a leftback spooning one over in open play vs a leading candidate for best player alive missing a penalty. You'd put your house on the latter.

The Albania one was offside in the end anyway wasn't it? And if you're including offside misses, the ibrahimovic's one in his last game was awful

I would have started Milner ahead of Henderson but the rest seems fine. Certainly enough quality in there to win the game and one would assume those players are hungry to perform and maybe force their way into Roy's first choice XI.

So the Guardian was spot on. As FMKK says, aside from Henderson - who I have never rated and who has had a nothing season for Liverpool, unlike Milner - that team is fine by me. Looks to have plenty of goals in them, but glad to see Rooney on the bench, just in case.

Thinking maybe Roy is extremely confident that we are going to go far in the tournament, and wants everyone to have a contribution.

Not too bad really, glad to see Sterling "rested", hopefully that will improve his performances if or most likely when he is brought back into the side.

My only concern about the changes is if Hodgson has a mindset of "it doesn't matter what path we take through the knockout stages, we'll have to play the big teams at some time so it doesn't really matter whether it's sooner rather than later".

I don't think that's a wise approach to take - if that is indeed the approach that Hodgson has.

What concerns me is if we are to go far.. the team has to play well together as a unit and become familiar with each other at this level. Is that going to happen if Roy is changing so many players? These aren't qualifying games anymore. This is it.

Agree with what's just been said on ITV.. messing with the back four is asking for trouble.

Well not quite everyone, as Hart is still in goal!

Why is it on ITV2 as well?

Something to do with the Welsh transmissions.

The risk for me is changing the back four as Lee Dixon has just said. It was the weak link going in to the tournament and in the first two games they did ok but to grow even stronger they need stability not to be chopped and changed IMO.

Agreed. Got a really bad feeling about it.

Viewers in Wales are being shown the Welsh game and would have no way of watching the England game unless it was shown on ITV2 - as ITV4 can't show different things in different regions.

I certainly think we want to win the group and hopefully England have seen that path to the final that someone posted earlier, showing the break between games,,and the advantage if we win the group.

Play with the same positive attitude as we have so far, and that will be a good start for me.

I'd have changed the keeper as well

Not because of Hart's mistakes, just to give the back up some tournament experience should we need him

But again what's the best scenario for the tournament as a whole.. giving a young keeper experience or helping Hart's confidence levels?

I was fine until the pundits start circling the team selection as though they were at an autopsy.

Bilic going on and on. Occasionally making sense, but why hasn't anyone pointed out to him that against Wales at the end, to which he has referred about 15 times already, there were three attackers on the field for England, not 2 as in this team. No doubt he will give everyone at least another ten opportunities to point this out to him before the match begins.
