Yup, and one that is definitely going places, I can see him managing a Champions League team in the not too distant future.

They might be better playing Portugal as it should be more open because Hungary , Iceland or Austria will just sit in as well

I am not too sure about Hungary, they seemed like a decent attacking team on their first match.

It's a good thing we did score then, isn't it? Scored against Russia, then drew because of a late goal. Then we scored to beat Wales after going a goal down.

Failing to score against a defensive team doesn't change those facts.

I thought Joe Hart was fantastic tonight.

If England were a dominatrix, they'd be a shit one.

That's what Lineker is saying on twitter.. or hoping. He suggested more decent opposition may open up the game more to us.

Goals are key. They're talking about how brilliant Wales have been - and maybe they were tonight - but they were very ordinary against Slovakia and England.

Well stil didn't win 2 of them though didn't we, you can play as well as you like but if you can't come ahead on goals come the end of the match it doesn't mean anything.

I love how Slaven keeps mentioning his West Ham players

I can't remember seeing "all those chances" that the pundits keep on talking about. Slovakia had the best chance with the defensive mix up and England had lots of possession with no cutting edge.

Portugal would be a good benchmark as they are a similar level to England although a good bit behind the top teams

I don't know, I think the best one was the effort that Skrtel cleared off the line.

Agreed. Our chances were hoofs at the goal which went straight at the keeper. I can't really remember a well strung together period of play that led to a close chance. Never said "That should have gone in" the entire game. Didn't jump up from my seat once. It was mediocre. We dominating possession but the quality of that possession was severely lacking. That's the concern for me. You can dominate a game but if you don't play clever football and string together chances.. what use is it.

We had one the shot in the first half, and maybe Ali's chance, and that was it, Wright was going waaaayyyy over the top about Sturridge's, it was a hopeful ball into the box which went into the keepers hands.

We were very poor tonight, Billic said it best of all the pundits, as usual they were trying to look for anything at all to spin into a positive, thankfully Billic is the only one there willing to talk a bit of sense.

I wonder how many people go out and buy a Continental tyre because they've seen the advert as official sponsor of the Euros?

Perfectly summed up, there was no moment to get excited about, nothing that really said we were on top, and about to score.

Having the ball when the opposition team do not want it, is not deserving of any praise at all.

Really not sure who England will play in 2nd round, could be anyone. Don't think Portugal will finish 2nd, that would mean a lot of crazy results, Austria can't top group, because they lost to Hungary, so could be them, I think it will be Austria or Hungary personally, because Portugal have to perform at some point
