The game will also be on talkSPORT, BBC Radio 5 Live and on the BBC Sport website and App.

The two sides have met 14 times previously with Northern Ireland winning only twice, the last of which came back in 1983.

Northern Ireland have lost only 1 of their last 14 internationals and have not conceded more than 1 goal in their last 15.

Germany have made it to the semi-finals at least in the last 5 major tournaments.

The Germans last 15 matches at major tournaments has resulted in 12 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat.

I think with Sweden and Ireland not looking up to much, that group might send Northern Ireland through whatever they do tonight.

Permutations:

Northern Ireland need a win to guarantee qualification - which would see them top the group and face a potential match with Slovakia if Poland fail to win; a draw would virtually make Northern Ireland a best third side and clinch a knockout tie with France, while a defeat could still see Northern Ireland qualifying in third but it would be touch and go depending on their goal difference.

Germany need a win to finish top of the group, while a draw will also put them through but only in second if Poland win - leading to a knockout match with Switzerland; a defeat would see them through either in second or as a best third place team if Poland avoided defeat.

Heading to the fanzone to watch this, should be a phenomenal atmosphere, win lose or draw.

I think we will be narrowly beaten but it may very well turn out to be enough.

Having said that, on our day we have proven time and time again we can shock anyone. Germany are the masters of getting it done when they need to, but I would not be surprised if we can earn a draw.

Good luck to them. Would love to see them make the knockout stages. Head says Germany though for this match. Hopefully they get through if that's the case.

Germany might not want to top the group, as they would be meeting Italy in the quarter finals and that's their most feared team (no joke)

So true. But Ukraine had them on the ropes in the latter stages of the first half in their game. Maybe N.I. can take heart/tips from that.

I think Slovakia getting up to four points yesterday actually simplified the task at hand for Northern Ireland.

The players will go out there against Germany knowing that they have to get a result to definitely go through, whereas had Slovakia lost, they would have known that they could lose by a small margin and still go through - which could have complicated their mindset.

That said, I still think Germany will win 2-0 or 3-0 - which will leave Northern Ireland right on the edge of going through or not.

A touch of humility is good for the soul, so purely out of concern for Germany's sense of well being, I hope Northern Ireland win. 1-0 to Northern Ireland will do me - and Germany - fine

When did the laws of the game change so that you don't have to play the ball forward at kick off? I've never seen that before.

Great save Michael McGovern!

Thought Muller was in for the first goal there.
