Somebody said Thomas Muller only scores in World Cups

I wonder what the reason is that he does not perform at the Euros
A mixture of coincidence and higher standard of opposition I would imagine. What do you think?

germans pressed northern ireland really well just before the goal... giving them no time on the ball.

No need for NI to panic : 1-0 could well be enough to see them qualify....just keep doing what they're doing

Difficult to argue that was against the run of play.

Germany are going to take some stopping. I reckon only Italy can beat them, from what I have seen.

Seriously, how does Jonathan Pearce not see the difference between a goal-kick flag and an offside one?! So frustrating to listen to at times.
Remember his comments about the Goal Line Technology at the last World Cup, he is clueless at times.

Germany could have been 4 or 5 up by now.

Albania will be watching, hoping Germany win by about 4 goals

It's just not Müllers day or tournament is it?

Muller's finish was similar to Payet's the other night; he just tried to loft it into the roof of the net rather than blast it.

Had the same result.

If they keep doing what they are doing then they are going to get hammered. Germany are opening them up with ease.

Those woodwork efforts might just keep NI in the tournament, they need to keep the score as low as possible

A 3-0 defeat or better will probably be enough, but 4-0 and they may be struggling.

The key for Northern Ireland to qualify is to make sure they don't finish behind Albania in the third place standings.

They will if they lose this match by four clear goals.

The commentators being very generous to the NI performance:

"They've made it difficult for Germany and continue to do so"

Germany should be at least 4-0 up they've created chances with ease.

Agreed, NI can't even get out of their own half

A 4 Goal defeat would put Albania above them, and as you say probably eliminated

The way Germany are playing now is how England should have played against Slovakia. Quick build up play and forcing things to happen against a defensive side.

Pearce observes, correctly, the Northern Ireland fans have not stopped singing. What he didn't say is the German fans are too busy confirming hotel bookings for their next match to be singing.

I think he has been lucky play in some great teams and maybe he just likes the World Cup more than the Euros, if that makes sense
