That might be the best save McGovern's made of the whole lot.

McGovern's heroics deserve for him to have a shot at the Last 16.

Yeah, that was a proper save, the ones hit straight at him were routine..

Choosing NI's man of the match won't exactly be difficult - McGovern has been outstanding from the first minute.

So who will Germany be playing in the final? Hope it can be Italy.

I don't think he has been that great, it's just that Germany's finishing has made him look good. If he doesn't make those saves then they would go down as goalkeeping errors.

I think there is a lack of generosity and appreciation in your comment about McGovern rooted in exaggeration about Germany's finishing.

Northern Ireland have surely done it.

A combination of magnificent goalkeeping and an opponent that essentially declared at 1-0 has surely put them through as one of the best third place sides.

Northern Ireland will guarantee a spot if:
- Czech Republic and Turkey draw tonight, or
- Turkey beat the Czechs by less than four clear goals.

Comfortable for Germany but NI will be delighted at only a one-goal defeat.

McGovern was immense.

That's good. I didn't realise NI were so well placed.

No, watch it back, Germany's finishing was very poor, they just shot straight at him. Apart from 1 or 2.

I'm sure we will find more interesting things to disagree about before the tournament is over

Those saves are the sort of saves that if De Gea made them, people would be absolutely raving about why he is one of the top 3 keepers in the world.

Turkey could well win tonight : the Czechs have not been good so far

Watched the game in the fan park in Belfast today. Great atmosphere for the most part but the crowd kind if died down a but as the game went on and Germany were just playing out the game. They're great at just suffocating games like that. The finishing from Götze, Muller and Gomez just wasn't good enough though. Their wingers and midfielders were energetic and creative but the goals just didn't come. Huge credit to McGovern for some great saves but that should still have been a 3 or 4-0 to Germany. Northern Ireland didn't offer much. Really, it wasn't too dissimilar to the England game outside of Germany getting the win.

Proud of the lads, a good performance considering the circumstances IE. A lower championship side facing a side composed of champions league winners.

McGovern was heroic though. Could have lost that game 5 or 6 nil without him. I thought we were more defensively solid in the second half but it did come at the cost of any attacking threat we had. Apart from Stevie Davis's run!

Neutral goal difference should HOPEFULLY see us through. A phenomenal achievement for a country of this size to reach the last 16 of a major tournament. Fully expect us to go out no matter who we face but at this stage, who cares?!

And we're through!

McGovern was brilliant, should have no problem getting a new club this summer.

My only worry is now a big club will come in for Michael O'Neill after the tournament.

Hope we play like we did against Ukraine from now on, nothing to lose!

I'd actually fancy our chances if we get Wales, we should probably have beaten them in March.

The Thomas Muller I know would be on about 7 goals by this point in the tournament.
His Dad wouldn't have missed them!
