Mwah, it sounding a bit uninspired and not 'up' what Capital was, so far. If you do VT's very well it can sound like that. Lot of talk without music under, very dull so far.

3 hours in and Foxy sounds okay actually. Good to hear him back on the radio, good short links and some references to shows at the O2 helps to link some of the songs.

Does it sound like a London station for London? Actually, I think it does.

One thing though, Foxy is talking a lot about the Saturday show and being here "every Friday between 4 and 8", but no mention of the rest of the week. Is he doing the other weekdays as the schedule says?

For what I saw on the schedule it is. Drivetime, after Neil Francis.

Great listening to foxy again with his old jingle.

It sounded like he was live ISDN? The music was played from somewhere else. Maybe the music is played in Wales and DJs doing the ISDN links somewhere in London. The traffic l don't know?

Sound quality was horrible. They must tweak the stream processing.

Listened to the first hour of Foxy's show...seemed enthusiastic but definitely not live as not one time check although he did have a go at a bit of weather information.

Music fine but lacking any real connection as not live.

It seems doubtful that any of the shoes will be live...not really a problem, just a bit disappointing.

Sure Tony's Soul Party will be recorded as live and be enjoyable though.

I don't understand Neil Fox wasn't 'live' What does he do these days, other than this show? VT'd is a great tool, but I feel some shows should be 'live'

Perhaps the weekday Breakfast Show will be 'live'?

Pat Sharp will probably always VT his shows, as he does many gigs around the UK, which seems to be keeping him fairly busy!

Still, it great to hear great broadcasters back on the air (although Sharp and Blackburn have been doing various shows for a while)

The traffic sounds like standard INRIX live drop ins via ISDN when I've heard it during breakfast hours.

Foxy sounded really quite dull last night and I wasn't too impressed by the music for a Friday night - hardly getting the party started! I wonder if it's being done via VT from home studios, and if so whether some clever use of technology to do it live might be required...

The music was pretty decent this morning with Neil, he was fairly chatty in the links but mainly 3 in a row then a link.

Hoping they are using VT in the early days but in London it surely has to be live at Breakfast and Drive at the very least.

Where do you think they'll get the money for that from? Are they running any adverts?

Still no Neil Francis who is on schedule for saterdays also. I guess he starts on monday and 6 days a week.

Music and presentation so far from Neil Fox is very dull, music imaging also. This sounding far from how Captital sounded. I miss the exciting presentation, music and imaging. Imaging sounding very cheap and 'hospital radio-like' instead of imaging for a station in the big city.
They are very exaggerated that they come from London, while they are not technically from London if whe already knows. With all VT's so far.

Music is also too soft, and I hear a lot (!) repeats already. The playlist/databese is very very tight. I miss a lot of upbeat music where they can make the difference between the mainstream stations like Heart/Magic and Smooth.

Soundprocessing makes it also sounding very dull, flat and not exciting on the livestream anyway, Lots of tweaking to do.

Conclussion: It's a deception so far. They had better wait until everything was in good order. London studio, better soundprocessing, more music in the database, in short not as useless 'hoax''.

I wonder where the studios are?
Anywhere you can use a laptop in relative peace..... VT technology is not complicated these days and not expensive either. A USB mic and away you go.....

Just listening to Thames for the first time now Tony's on. The 48k AAC stream sounds more like plain MP3. 128k MP3 sounds fine though.

Tony Blackburn is on good form on his Soul Party - not live but recorded as live - doesn't really matter as he is so enthusiastic and up for the music he plays.

He is answering tweets live though.

Quality first show.

Blackburn sounding good and very 'up' and how it should be the rest of the station so far. Good and upbeat music is also the reason what helps to do this.

Nope. Nice and lively first link, but not live.

Good to hear his old Bad Case of Loving You jingle again though.
Presumably Pat Sharp will open his Monday show with "wah-wah-wah-wah-ooh-wah-ooh-wah Pat Sharp's Got All The Hits" jingle!

It sounded like the open link was recorded, but l think possible foxy is live at home and the links are dropped in. Where are the main studios where the music, ads, jingles and trailers are played out?

Can you explain what is 'recorded as live' please.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge on that one

Recorded in real time, with Tony actually playing the songs etc.

Whereas voicetracks are just voiced links, recorded to be played in between songs.

So in essence, a live show?
