This is actually the 3rd version of the name Thames Radio to broadcast to London!

As well as the old 107.8 Thames Radio (Thames FM) from South West London, there was a 70's pirate station that used the Thames Radio name in London and also the great 90.2 Thameside Radio!

A decent schedule with well known names from the London Capital heydays or other well known names from the London radio past have pottential to becomes a nice station, also with a decent playlist of music.
I hope they getting their act together just in time for launch on sunday. So this is not promising and hopefull so far...

Ideally Monday to Friday
6am Neil Fox
10am Pat Sharp
1pm Mick Brown
4pm David Jensen
7pm Dean Martin
10pm Eamonn Kelly

Now that would make a great line up, if they could persuade Chris Tarrant to do weekend mornings as well, even better and Tony Blackburn on weekend Breakfast

Where do you suggest they will get the money from for that on a digital only local station?

Is this the DAB+ station London 2 advertised for? If not, what bite rate can we expect and what is currently available.

I wonder if this station is actually in London based studio's, because it's another sister station from another station in the county. So it could be that it all comes from another town and it's fully automatic and VT radio...

It's made the Guardian but almost similar to the press release on Radio today.

Sharp said: “For me, being on air once more at a station that will live and breathe London, could actually cap it all. Patman is getting set to play on the Thames again.”
Seems to indicate he might be live but also could be VT ed?
Will be in the same DAB/online market as Gold, Wireless, Golden and Eagle oldies!

No idea, their claim is to bring back the sound of Capital from the 80's and 90's and if they wanna do that then they need to bring back those I listed.

Mick Brown is on Jackie drive, Jenson is on the Wireless, Eamonn Kelly is on Smooth. Dean Martin I think was Online Decades after Gold but not currently on any station?

Tony Blackburn does not have a show on terrestrial radio in London but his Bauer City network show can be heard online.

Processing on their stream is very weak and flat though. I hope they fix that. And still a lot of zero's in the format, where they claim playing 70's, 80's and 90's. If it's once an hour ok, but I hear a lot.

Recreate the Capital feeling from the 80's and 90's. They need the same American voice-over guy they using in the early 90's and all those DVI's and laser effects. What a great imaging that was! Here's an example:

That's it ! I can't listen to this station now if they are going to break the format & play a record from one year out of the format years ! 😂
Katie Perry Firework on now how's that 80s, 80s, 90s?

It's current output isn't that dissimilar to Magic. When Tracey Chapman and Fast Car started, I had to confirm the station by looking at the stream name!

It's not sounding 'up', it's very medium/soft driven radio music wise. It reminds me more of another Smooth/Magic clone than a Capital (from the 80's and 90's) revival. For real; if you want hear the old Capital tune in to Smooth Radio or Magic the names are there music wise not offcourse.

Although the website says they will only play the greatist hits of these decades the RT release says
The station says it is bringing back the heyday of Capital Radio in the 80s and 90s.
There are several new popular songs which could fit the era so why not play them and broaden the listening base to bring in good ad revenue?

So people are complaining about the music while the station is testing and not launched?.... hmmmmm

I think people should wait for it to launch before knocking the music and output quality
