Well they will fancy themselves against Belgium or Hungary in the quarters if they get there.
Think if Croatia get to the semi they might be too strong though. |

When Ireland get dumped out on Saturday, (probably by yet another French "le hand ball" goal). I will be supporting Wales, the nicest people you could ever meet and they have one the two best footballers in Europe and top five in the world easily.
Bale acts as a huge magnet for the other teams' players, he draws them to him and that gives great space for Ramsey, Allen, Robson-Kanu and the rest. Many teams like Barcelona and PSG have won that way with Messi and Zlatan drawing the opposition. |

I'd love it if they did (I have become a 'temporary Welsh supporter' for the duration of the tournament) but their play & tactics are basic. And even their best player, Bale, isn't firing. I can imagine when they come up against a decent team, they will get destroyed because they will not be able to resist their opposition's might.

The next question is: Can Iceland win the Euros?

With the only team to score 4 goals during euro cup I don't think Wales will stand a chance against Belgium.

Three of the goals were in the late spell where Hungary were chasing the game too, so I still fancy Wales for this.

Would be great to have this final
Wales v Iceland What are the odds, worth a little flutter I put a 10 quid bet on Iceland coming from behind and winning the match 55/1 odds 550 quid, at least it dilutes the pain of suffering another terrible England performance |

can they? yes. will they? no, I don't think so. I think Belgium will beat them but even if that does happen it's been a great tournament for them.

Not likely, a team so poor they couldn't even beat England!😵

Wales have next to no chance of beating Belgium if they carry forward their performance from the last 16. Belgium were lousy in the qualifiers against the Welsh, but they should get their revenge here by a couple of goals at least. Wales definitely won't be winning Euro 2016. But they have won the home nations cup I guess judging by the way their players celebrated England losing.

I fancy Italy will beat Germany (yet again) and have a great chance of winning the whole tournament. They were excellent in their opening two group games, didn't bother against Ireland (as I predicted would happen, it's the Italian way), and then put in another special performance against the Spanish. Germany's defence hasn't really been tested yet in these finals, but that's going to change on Saturday. If Germany plays with their usual high line, they will be exposed and sliced apart on the counter attack - especially with the confident way Italy are playing.

I'll go for Italy to win. I don't think Germany are as strong with the players they've lost (Lahm is a massive miss) and Italy look a tough nut to crack. |

Italy are full of leaders aren't they? That defence must be the best around.

I don't think Germany are as strong with the players they've lost (Lahm is a massive miss) and Italy look a tough nut to crack. Germany are out for blood for all the pain Italy have caused them and especially for 2012. They will be as motivated as they have ever been and although I agree that they look much weaker without Lahm, they managed to get their mojo back and Neuer and Boateng look to be in amazing form. And although this Italy team have performed over and above expectations, let's not get carried away and forget the actual quality of the players when compared to the Germans. Plus, if De Rossi is injured that will be a massive blow to Italy. As I said in another thread, in my view Germany's (only) weakness is Hummels. If Italy can exploit that, they night just have a (slim) chance.

All Wales will win is the prize for the most extravagant celebration, following the defeat of their neighbours England to Iceland, as seen on this video clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOHgwMA18UI
I will firmly be supporting Belgium in the quarter final. |

I don't have a problem with that video, what's football without rivalry after all?

I'm disappointed it needed one of the squad to explain it, everyone's too outraged about nothing these days.

I will firmly be supporting Belgium in the quarter final. Belgium will ruin them anyway. |
