Yeah, bias is terrible isn't it?
At some point you might have to come to terms with Wales not only doing well but deserving it too. Portugal are much tougher than Belgium. They're defensively organised, and won't panic and lose faith even if they did fall behind. I can see no possible way for Wales to beat them especially with two key players out through suspension (Ramsey is a HUGE miss). |

I've never denied they have done incredibly well to get as far as they have.

Portugal who barely managed to scrape their way into the knockout stage, not on goal difference, but on total goals scored? Portugal who have not won a single game in 90 mins Portugal couldn't win against Hungary, Belgium put 4 past them. I'm embarrassed that some other English fans are so bitter that they come out with this kind of tripe. It's a new game, and maybe Portugal's "Stars" will finally show their potential, unlike England's, and will prove too much for Wales, but to suggest that there is "no possible way for Wales to beat them" is laughable |

![]() And that MAY be a reason to want to see Wales lose if you wish. But you are not saying you don't WANT wales to win. You are saying they CAN'T win. |

Wales have a very good chance of winning now, Portugal are not playing well at all so getting to the final seems like a no brainer.

France or Germany should still win it.
If Wales get to the final against Germany they will automatically be in the confederations cup next June which would be a massive achievement |

Well yes but they spent a lot of time with safe possession in their own half and Belgium refused to do much pressing. Safe side to side passes before a hoof ball forward finally conceded possession.
To borrow from boxing - they have a punchers chance at best. They might strike lucky, but it is highly unlikely that the England hating squad will get to the finals. There is a huge gulf in class and I wouldn't bet one penny on them reaching the final. Wales 0 Portugal 3 is my prediction with a couple from Ron. |

I predict a 3 - 1 victory to Wales with Ronaldo getting sent off for simulation or harrasing of officials. |

![]() For the first time ever, they can give it back. It's daft and I wish they hadn't done it, but it's laddish/bantery nonsense. There is something hilarious about the fact it was Iceland too - we have to listen to endless stuff about the England team in the media. Even my English mates recognise that. I'm loving the fact that for virtually the first time in my 46 years I can give my English mates some stick about doing better than them. I got loads of texts when they lost 2-1, mostly about being a rubbish team of sheepsh*ggers. Finally, finally, I can give it bad in a lighthearted way. I'm loving it. Saying that, I've been massively impressed with the good wishes from England fans (most of whom are relaxed about the Welsh team's somewhat daft celebration). |

Judging by your predictions in the politics forum of late, this must make Wales a certainty to progress.

I've said this before, but it's all about bragging rights at their clubs. They'll have got endless stick off English team-mates and friends after losing the other day. I guarantee you their phones were red-hot.

Speaking of impressive fans, have heard quite a few stories about the Welsh and the Belgians and the general friendly atmosphere. Eg Welsh fans being applauded after arriving at pubs after the game, and even getting an impromptu 'guard of honour' from the Belgians when a group of them were going for a train in their 'underground'. Considering the early reporting of off field events, that's the sort of thing that makes me smile. |

![]() Argentina players probably celebrated Brazil's 7:1 loss so hard, they were clearly too hung over to play in the WC final There were videos of them in their dressing room chanting "Brazil, how do you like us showing you up in your own back yard" etcDo you think German players didn't celebrate Holland not qualifying for the Euros? Anyway, all of Europe laughed at England and celebrated - Wales were just filmed doing it. |

I doubt all of Europe cared enough to celebrate, calm it down.

Xela is probably right in that football fans throughout Europe will have had a good snigger at England's humiliating failure against Iceland. Just as I expect they would if the same happened to Germany. It's hardly a declaration of war, for goodness sake.

I'm sure people in Estonia and beyond laughed briefly and then carried on with whatever they were doing because most love an underdog tale, but not jumping about and screaming like the Welsh did.

I doubt many other countries had a gathering of their entire football squad though cramped around a TV watching and praying for England to lose. |

You can't take offence to Wales celebrating an England defeat when every post you make has you clearly drooling over the prospect of Wales losing.

Why are people throwing their dummies out of the pram over their arch RIVALS celebrating their humiliating loss?! Don't rival clubs do that all the time? What the hell is wrong with that?
