speaking of goalies, where's Banks
Best Goalie only. Banks Yashin Trautmann Swift Zoff Buffon Casillas Schmeichel Shilton must be one of those, surely. All great, but up until his head injury, Cech was better than all of them! I go for Zoff. Still great at 40 when Italy won an extremely high quality world cup. |

Buffon in 2006 was immense as well. I moan about him a lot, but that direct header he stopped from Zidane in the World Cup final just before the end is the best save I have ever seen a goal keeper make at the most important moment. It was an unstoppable shot that should have been a goal and I believe it's Buffon's stop that really frustrated Zidane and caused him to lose his mind and we all know how that ended.
I said Cech, because I saw a lot of him. He was truly outstanding in every dept of keeping. Big guy but with reflexes of a cat. Great at one on ones. Got his angles right. Great on crosses. Great temprement. Brave as they come. Very, very rarely made a serious mistake. I'd mark him as a 10/10 keeper up until that awful head injury. |

Haha! That depends... Are you a rich oily arrogant "I'm too good for this world" jerk?
![]() Yes... Christiano Ronaldo turned me down. First he led me on and promised me the Queen of the WAGS lifestyle, but then... NOTHING ![]() |

Ronaldo, totally dominated the premier league when he was here and now doing a stellar job in Spain.
International record a bit average but his club record is phenomenal. And then you say his international record is average. That sounds better than it actually is. Friendly kickabouts and qualification games are nothing like tournament football. You Ron fanboys are very selective in giving the hard facts. |

If there's only one team to have effectively thwarted him, that's not exactly a flat track bully.

A top heavy Spanish league with a quality Barca team with a dodgy defence. A Barca team that was 2-0 up at home to a struggling Chelsea team with 10 men, and they still went out. ![]() Brilliant going forward, nowhere near as good at the other end. |

All you're really saying is how great Chelsea's defence is.

He certainly did not dominate Chelsea, the one team he faced who had a top quality defence. 1 goal in 15 games against them says so much about this flat track bully.

You Ron fanboys are very selective in giving the hard facts. And you Chelsea fanboys need to look at hard facts like who is the all time leading scorer in the Champions League. |

Ronaldo won 3 premier league titles after your owner went on a spending spree, that in itself is pretty much domination. Might have not scored a lot of goals against Chelsea but did help relieve you of 3 titles.
And you Chelsea fanboys need to look at hard facts like who is the all time leading scorer in the Champions League. At that ratio, if he came up against that kind of defending every week he'd have scored 2,5 goals a season. ![]() He played well today. Significantly was against a team pushing for goals and leaving their defence wide open enough to drive buses through. Completely different to the solid defending he's faced so far. |

"Not a lot of goals" It was one!

Ronaldo has scored a lot of goals against good opponents, don't really think having scored one goal against Chelsea will bother him too much with his 3 champions league medals around his neck. |

International record a bit average but his club record is phenomenal. He does not need to perform for his country on the biggest stage As long he keeps scoring hat tricks against Granada and Levante He will go down in history as being better than Pele and Maradona, as those two never played as well for their clubs than for their country |

You can't talk about 'fanboys' and then say that Petr Cech is the greatest European 'keeper of all time.

Yes i think we can call him the Greatest footballer of all time
He does not need to perform for his country on the biggest stage As long he keeps scoring hat tricks against Granada and Levante He will go down in history as being better than Pele and Maradona, as those two never played as well for their clubs than for their country Pele was phenomenal for Santos. It was his club performances that got him into the Brazilian national side at 17 and kept scoring for Santos for more than a decade afterwards.
