I'm still struggling to comprehend that we are actually in the Championship.
Be a massive struggle but we'll enjoy it while it lasts. |

So..Newcastle United.
May as well give them the Championship title now. Walkover surely? |

Saw Notts County beat what was admittedly a weakened Blackburn side yesterday but I can see Blackburn going down

As a Wednesdayite it makes a refreshing and exciting change to be going into a Championship season with the realistic expectation of being in and around the promotion race, but it's going to be a very difficult league. Newcastle of course "should" win the league with the money they've spent and their resources but it's not guaranteed. Norwich should be very strong and up there challenging, along with the 3 play off losers from last season Wednesday, Brighton and Derby and perhaps Wolves as well depending how wisely they invest. Villa are the interesting one, they were awful in the PL last season but have money to spend and on paper some players who should be too good for the Championship, so they could go either way - continue in freefall with a bunch of disinterested overpaid players, or they could bounce straight back.
It's a notoriously tough league though, pretty much anybody is capable of beating anybody else and there'll be plenty of surprising results along the way. |

Newcastle are rightly favourites but the Championship is notoriously difficult to predict at times so it wouldn't surprise me to see them miss out on promotion just as it wouldn't surprise me to see them win it at a canter.
i think Norwich might be a good bet to bounce back straight away too. |

Villa sign Ross McCormack from Fulham for a reported 12 million . Rather a lot to pay for a 29 year old , but he is a consistent goal scorer in The Championship , & if he scores the goals that help Villa get promoted then it would have been money well spent.

Good start for Fulham, they played some nice stuff. The right-back's little flick off his back especially.

Forest looked very shaky at the back but Brighton were excellent and will challenge for promotion again

We were unlucky against Forest, should have taken all the points from Bristol but individual errors cost us and at this level more than ever. Can we keep these performances up for another 43 games? I don't know. If we do it will be a pleasure to watch and maybe, just maybe we'll be OK. |

Brighton top the league on goal difference after three games . with three other teams all on seven points. Latest a 3-0 win over Rotherham . Leeds got their first point with a injury time equaliser against Fulham . Preston still without a point , Blackburn & Newcastle play their games tonight, looking to get off the mark as well
