TBF he actually did ok there and Derby should have really beaten QPR in the 2014 play-off final but the next season they really did blow it at the end missing out on the play-offs all together.
Rather summed up McLaren's career I think - moments of good results but generally ends up in a mess. |

Bruce to Villa is an interesting one. After all Villa have been through, they really aren't that fussed that Bruce is an ex Birmingham manager like they were with McLeish. Bruce will take Villa up but not this season

Leeds 1 point off the play offs! Great day out so far today. Few more drinks to celebrate before the train

Paul Lambert in at Wolves and Jimmy Floyd out at QPR.
Not a surprise with either - one will be looking to re-build his career and the other never really got the best out of his squad at Loftus Road. |

Where Rowett made a good choice leaving Burton for Birmingham, Hasselbaink made a poor choice going to QPR

Didn't see this coming
Queens Park Rangers have reappointed Ian Holloway as manager, 10 years after he left the Championship club. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37943477 |

Another (2-0) win for Newcastle this time away at Leeds.
Two more goals for Gayle and that's 8 wins (9 in all competitions) in a row now in the Championship and we're now 5 points clear and a goal difference of plus 7.

I sincerely hope that Rafa wins the league and I just can't wait to see him in the EPL with a new improved Newcastle side. I'm sure they'll be finishing in the top 5 next season.

Newcastle United right now are the polar opposite of the club they were this time last year but there is still such a long time to go in this season with a lot of football to be played. Once we get up (assuming we do)... well I'm sure Rafa even now is looking at players he thinks might be able to compete in the premier league. Talk of top 5 is at this stage a fairytale as much as I'd like to believe we'd storm the premier league. But to put it this way... Rafa isn't going to take Newcastle to the premier league to make up the numbers. He wants to build a legacy here and while I can never chuffed we took the downward step to the championship I really think there could be exciting times ahead. |

Kenny Jackett quit as Rotherham manager already...
Must have had some sort of bust up. |

Zola off to a losing start at Birmingham after the inane sacking of Gary Rowett earlier this week.
Newcastle and Brighton pulling away from the rest now. 9 points and 8 points clear of 3rd place Reading respectively. |

That Birmingham game sort of summed up his management - looked good going forward but then made some poor tactical/player changes which cost them the game including a late winner which happened to us so often.
He might get them playing some flowing attacking football but other than that not sure Zola is going to be any better than Rowett. Also like a lot of overseas managers he had a habit of making endless changes each match - not sure that works too well in the Championship. Even Rafa Benitez at Newcastle has been caught out doing that a couple of times. |

Eight defeats in ten games for Norwich , was expecting them be challenging Newcastle & Brighton for automatic promotion , 12th at the moment .
First game back for Jermaine Beckford after his red card at Leeds . Came on today against the same opponents , lasted 3 minutes before another red card |
