Northern Ireland will surpass themselves if they make it to extra time.

I will be looking forward to this one, should be a great atmosphere between the two sets of fans.

I think Wales will progress in the end however.

Its a great opportunity for Wales.

Northern Ireland will park the bus, and by losing their two matches 1-0 (against Poland and Germany no less), demonstrate that Wales need to be at their best to break them down.

They drew 1-1 in a friendly just before the tournament.

Wales clearly have more talent. I think NI have a better manager, but not enough to make up for it. I anticipate a dull, scrappy 1-0 win for Wales.
This means that it will be a 4-3 extra-time thriller.

Wales have a better squad, but not by much. As an NI man I could never live it down if I didn't back us to win this one - I think we will, just have a feeling.

But you know what? No matter who wins, one of NI or Wales is going to be in the quarter finals. That is phenomenal.

Wales have shown they're not just a one man team . Ramsey has had a great tournament and is just as likely to score .

No chance of a park the bus approach against Wales, we won't give them that much time respect. We'll approach this one with a similar style to the Ukraine game I'd say.

All this 'Wales win' stuff is making me nervous as a Welshman. Still just enjoying the ride for the first time in my lifetime.

Of course I want Wales to win, but said in another thread that the only compensation if it goes t!ts up is that another 'home' team is in the Quarters...

Think it will be a cracking day for fans of both sides and an amazing atmosphere. One thing I certainly don't want and will probably be unable to watch is a penalty shoot out!

Northern Ireland were probably the better team in the March friendly, although Bale wasn't playing that night.

It wasn't only Bale who didn't play. Ramsey didn't, Allen played for 20 minutes. In fact there were only four and a half equivalent players who started against Russia, so the match in March cannot be used as an indicator in any way.

As an NI man I do tend to agree. All it showed was that when you take the top-level players out of Wales' squad, the two teams are basically on a par.

If we want to win, we have to nullify the threat from Bale, Ramsey and Allen. Easier said than done. Wales are undoubtedly the favourites but I don't think this is a foregone conclusion and it will be a great game.

I think for both teams getting to the finals was an achievement. Both have exceeded expectations, I'm hoping Wales can get the result, but whatever happens I won't be too dissappear.

Ni are the worst team in the competition. They don't even attempt to play football.

That type of anti football is very hard to beat however.

Against Ukraine they did when needing to win..

But yes were on the back foot in the other 2 games.

As it's Wales NI might be more attack minded than if they were playing France.

I'm tipping Northern Ireland as they actually want to stay in Europe unlike Wales!😃

Wales might get booed by all the French people in the stadium for voting to leave the EU. NI voted to remain.

Have been pretty much avoiding the Politics forum as a Welshie who voted 'remain' (as did Cardiff) and I get this!!!

Nah. I think it'll be just a tad too noisy with Wales and Ireland fans for it to be terribly noticeable even if it did happen!

Oh, hang on. Where's the Ref from?! Uh-Oh....

eta England. Didn't know that! (not being serious, obviously.)
