I'd say Croatia- Portugal and Italy-Spain are the hardest two to predict. Both could go either way. Then again, one or two of the other matches could produce a surprise.

Switzerland - Poland - 70% sure
Wales - Northern Ireland - 75% sure Croatia - Portugal - 60% sure France - Republic Of Ireland - 70% sure Germany - Slovakia - 80% sure Italy - Spain - 70% sure Hungary - Belgium - 65% sure England - Iceland - 80% sure Obviously I'm not overly confident on any of them but I've given percentages. Croatia vs Portugal is my hardest one as I think Ronaldo and Nani are beginning to hit form and may still have the firepower to knock out Croatia. |

Can see England underestimating and struggling to break down Iceland. |

I'm pretty sure everyone's wrong so far! Not because they've made bad picks i hasten to add, quite the opposite, but because I reckon a minimum of 2 of the favourites or better teams will fail as is always the case in major championships.
Generally knockout stages have less goals, more caution and many settled in extra time and pens. On that basis the real standout candidate to get through is Northern Ireland, Wales have offered so little in attack and most certainly not world beaters. Second candidate is Rep of Ireland, France fail so often at major tournaments and another team toothless in attack. And dare i suggest 11 men 'park the bus' Slovakia just might hold out against a quality but very slow & methodic low scoring Germany? .... and let's not mention Iceland But to make a pick purely on form, quality and strongest looking teams then i'm with OP. |

Switzerland - Poland
Wales - Northern Ireland Croatia - Portugal France - Republic Of Ireland Germany - Slovakia Italy - Spain Hungary - Belgium England - Iceland The Hungary game is the only one where I feel its in the balance. Have plumped for Hungary in the end, but its probably more an emotional choice than logic that swung it. Would love to see one or two shock exits*, if only to spice the tournament up a bit. * (not England )

My guess is Switzerland, Wales, Portugal, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, England
I think Portugal will end up in the Final, which is ridiculous considering they scraped third and have been rewarded with an easier route to the Final than anyone else. The format is just massively flawed. |

Switzerland - Poland - poland have lewa. Switzerland will put 3 players on him anywhere near the box.. This leaves too much room for others. Poland win.
Wales - Northern Ireland wales on penalties Croatia - Portugal portugal, the ronaldo factor will truly start to kick in now, he only needs to be on the pitch to make the other team nervous and croatia wont have enough belief in themselves yet its only the second round France - Republic Of Ireland republic in extra time france appear to be carrying the weight of a nation but without zidane to save them, pogba nor payet are anywhere close to zidane. Germany - Slovakia germany, slovakia will park the bus again but germany have players who can be a goal threat from outside the box slovakia wont be able to cope. Italy - Spain your all thinking penalties but i can see it being a 2-1 maybe 3-2 to italy. Hungary - Belgium 1-0 belgium England - Iceland 1-0 england from a set piece. |

Hungary have surprised everyone so it will not be an easy game for the Belgiums who struggle to get their talented individuals working as a cohesive team. Agree Spain v Italy is a tough one but I was impressed how defensively strong Italy were in the first two games And then there is of course England, who always seem to make hard work of it and it wouldn't surprise me if Iceland score first and the game goes to the wire as they shut up shop. |

Given that Laszio Biro was Hungarian, I'm predicting their game against Belgium will be settled by pens...
