There was a poll this morning that was deleted after a few hours due to legal reasons.
Exactly, it was the publication of it that was the problem.

I doubt anyone is going to notice.

What this will do incredibly accurately is to show just how skewed the participants on this forum are from the public mainstream.

Well, of course you would say that since the poll is going in a direction that doesn't suit. I always think the forum is very evenly spread politically. Anyway, not long to go now.

Well it has to be skewed doesn't it ? I don't think even in Gove's wildest dreams he'd imagine he'd get a 70% Leave.

It's interesting that this poll(and the other poll that was on here) indicates that the large majority of people on this forum have voted leave, as I can practically guarantee that the actual real result tomorrow will be Remain has won.

Who knows? The poll here is interesting at least and encouraging if you voted Leave I suppose.

No, having the poll is not illegal it is publishing it.
Well, technically yes the poster of the poll could as they published it. In practice it's more Digital Spy itself that would be liable.

Dont freak out about it, just self report it and get it taken down.

The forum is not spread evenly over the EU referendum. It's been clear for months that those of us backing remain have been outnumbered by brexiters by something like 10 to 1.

Despite that, we have won most of the arguments.

And of course we will win the most important poll of all tonight.

Says more about DS users than the nation.

So the participants of this forum are not part of public who have gone out today to vote? Just because you dont like the result you can see on the top does not mean we are the part of elite/establishment who scaremonger public to vote for their wishes.

We are the public we are the one who have voted one way or other so I suggest you deal with the result whether you like it or not instead of trying to insult DS forums users because you dont agree with their view which is their democratic right!

Of course we are part of the public but we certainly aren't representative of it.

The "exit poll" in the GD forum is closer: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2158746 - make of that what you will.

I was talking generally on politics. But you could be correct on the EU referendum when I think back so fair comment on that.

This poll is tracking at 73% leave ,I find it hard to believe it's so different to the national polls

DS is about as accurate as an indicator of public opinion as a finger in the wind.

Especially if it doesn't predict the result of your choice.

How many users does DS have compared to the 40 million odd voters.

It's very easy to believe. The type of characters who hang out on a politics section of an entertainment website aren't typical of the general public.

275 people have voted , that's not insignificant for an average

A small/very small sample size in polling terms.

We may not be representative of it but surely those who voted out are not skewed as claimed by remainers just because they dont like what they see up there at the moment.

Opinion of 275 people are skewed put 800 people sending FTSE and pound soaring is great I guess as long as it suits remainers agenda!
