Hi, hope I have posted on the right section?
I am presently watching a dvd box set of a tv series and had found one of the discs with 2 episodes on is faulty. Rest of series is fine.
I thought the solution would be to purchase just these 2 episodes via itunes or google and once they were downloaded onto my laptop I was hoping to then copy them onto a pen drive so I could watch them via usb on my tv as 3 of us are watching the series so I didnt just want them on my laptop.
It seems as if there is a problem doing this, presumably cos it is classed as copying?
Anyone know how I could get these two episodes onto my tv? Suppose I could buy the leads to play it on tv via laptop? Is that the only way round it?

You haven't specified what problem you're encountering when trying to watch them via USB.

Does your TV does support video playback from USB?
If it does then does it support the file format of the videos you have downloaded?

If your TV and Laptop are reasonably modern then the easiest solution would be to connect them together using an HDMI cable. If your equipment is older then you could still connect them but the cables will probably be more expensive.

I didnt buy the episodes because someone told me that once I had downloaded them onto laptop it wouldnt be possible to then copy them onto usb due to restrictions on copying, presumably rules from itunes and google? I guess it will be easier just viewing via hdmi as you suggested.

I'm not familiar with what restrictions they have but it may be due to DRM protection, there are ways around this but don't think it's accepted to discuss it on this forum.

Connecting using HDMI is probably the best option, just don't buy an expensive HDMI cable.
