Using SKY+ HD aerial for free view on Samsung TV
I recently cancelled my SKY+ HD subscription and obviously lost the ability to record and pause live TV with this. My Samsung TV however has freeview built in with the ability to record to a memory stick.
The problem I have is worn the aerial. My SKY box has a dual coaxial cable going into it and my TV has a single RF in port. Is there anyway to use the sky cable in a single RF in socket? Or is there some kind of adapter that would do the job? I've tried an Internet search to no avail. Amy help would be amazing. |

You cannot use the sky dish or cables for Freeview, you can buy a freesat box like the Humax Freetime 1100s which is a Freesat HD PVR which you can connect to the dish and cables, it will allow recording without any subscriptions

Freeview comes via a TV aerial. That's not the same as a satellite dish which is what is used to receive a signal for the Sky box. It doesn't matter what kind of adapters you buy to change the gender of the plug. The basic fact is the satellite dish picks up a signal that the (Freeview) tuner in a TV doesn't understand. In very simple terms then, you need an aerial and not a satellite dish.

You might consider a freesat recording satellite receiver. These use the same sky dish to get free to air satellite, and tend to be cheaper than recording freeview receivers.
