Technically it was Euro 68 with 1.4.

But that was with 4 teams - semi finals, third place playoff and final which had a replay. (5 games with 7 goals).

But in a proper tournament this the worst ever. Infact no world cup (we've had 20 of them) has gone lower than 2.21.

Can we just go right to penalties please?

For the general public this tournament must be tedium itself.

I think the extra teams have diluted the quality and rewarded safe play.

Can we cancel extra-time and send both teams home?

Since I watched portugal Hungary on Wednesday there has been less goals in the 5 matches combined than that match

On the plus side, there's been little or no cheating by Pepe

One of the worst matches I have ever seen in my life, possibly THEE worst. Both these teams deserve to lose so far. Let's hope things improve in extra time.

I fancy a chocolate mint ice cream at the moment. Think it's the Portugal strip that's triggered it.....and me mind is wandering a bit. Still looking good for my 5-4 on penalties prediction.

Yeah, it's been a very cagey tournament.

Usually I'm buzzing all the way through the Euros. This is the worst I've seen in my lifetime, or at least the most dull, although the quarterfinals onwards should hopefully improve a bit.

good news... another 30 minutes to keep lambasting the game and everyone on the pitch!

Nobody wants to win this tournament.

Perhaps I'm being premature in saying this but I really think it's going to take something very special to happen in the remaining 13 matches for Euro 2016 to go down as anything other than an extremely poor football tournament.

It's sad to say but the negative aspects of the championship - both on and off the field - have outweighed the positive ones.

And yet all the pundits have said that the expansion of the tournament has been a good thing for giving smaller countries the chance to play in a tournament, giving their fans a boost, generating extra atmosphere etc - implying that the reduction in quality is a fair price to pay for those things to happen, which it isn't, frankly.

The players in this match are for the most part more skilful technically than in the preceding Wales v NI match, but I have found this just as hard going. Extra time feels like more torture. Overall, this has been a miserable day of football.

Geez what happened to Ronaldo, I've hardly heard his name mentioned.

Of course, the penalty shoot-out could be just as bad and we could all still be sitting here at midnight!
