Last 16: Wales vs Northern Ireland - (25/6/16) KO 5pm, BBC1/HD & S4C/HD
Coverage of the game will also be on talkSPORT, BBC Radio 5 Live and on the BBC Sport website and App.
Since the partition of Ireland in 1921, Wales and Northern Ireland have played each other 60 times. In that first fixture, held in April that year, Wales were 2-1 victors. The current record stands at 27 wins for Wales, 18 draws and 15 victories for Northern Ireland. Wales have lost 2 of their 8 games at major tournaments and both of those were by a single goal. They had 22 shots on target in the group stage - more than any other team. Northern Ireland have lost only 2 of their last 15 internationals and they haven't conceded more than 1 goal in a match in their last 16 internationals. |

NI know all Wales players from league games. I can't see them sitting back, they will have a real go.

What an opportunity for both sides. I doubt either could have expected such a golden opportunity to make the last eight. The danger for Wales is not looking too far ahead and making sure they get this one under their belts.

Bale taking shite in the Press Conferences again saying that Wales are not favourites, you would have thought he would have learned from his stupid comments before the England game which so spectacularly backfired.

Hoping for an open and entertaining game.
Usually pick a side to cheer on, but as they are both home nations am torn between them even though Wales are surely big favourites for the win... |

I assume NI will not give Bale and Ramsey the sort of space Russia allowed them

Was he solely chosen because it's two home nations?

Too short a turnaround from the last game to this one.
UEFA should have scheduled two games a day instead of three and spaced them out further. |

I think we've ended up with this scenario because they've staggered the four Quarter-Finals over successive nights instead of having two-a-day.

No real reason, in theory, why they couldn't have had four days of two last 16 matches then. Getting two quarter-finalists a day.
