The Welsh smugness is starting to grate somewhat.
![]() We're enjoying this but I don't think we're going to win the tournament so you will probably get to enjoy our ultimate failure soon

Neither team was really inspiring. Still a win is a win.
Onward and upward

Ha ha, now you know how we've felt for many years watching a certain other home nation go through tournaments with the smugness of media and fans thinking 'it's coming home' this time

![]() I don't begrudge the Welsh their success, although if you were looking at it truly objectively, you could say that they've got to the quarter-finals having played only one really high quality side - whom they lost to. If Wales beat Belgium, any self-congratulations will be fully justified. |

If Wales beat Belgium, any self-congratulations will be fully justified. That's laughable. Saying I can't be objectivel when you've shown nothing but bitterness to Wales in your posts. England a 'high quality' side on paper only ,couldn't even finish top of their group against the same poor opposition as Wales |

I as a Wales fan think making the top 8 in Europe is proving how far we've come in recent years and if we can make it to the semis than all the better.
All I'm saying is that there should still be a sense of perspective; it was a 1-0 win over Northern Ireland, not a 4-0 win over Germany. Quote:

Indeed, and you have every right to feel pride at that achievement; it was only two years ago that Wales finished second bottom in World Cup qualifying!
All I'm saying is that there should still be a sense of perspective; it was a 1-0 win over Northern Ireland, not a 4-0 win over Germany. You couldn't have illustrated my point more perfectly if you had tried. We did all be it in the wrong net

Haha, exactly. England win one game and they get super arrogant and smug about winning the whole tjing, at least we are realistic about our chances.

Well done Wales. Shame for n Ireland though... I've got Wales at 40/1 to win the thing... Don't think they will, but there's nothing special in their path to stop them going further. My other bet is the Poles at 25s)

We certainty used to be like that. I don't think we are now. Dare I say I think Wales have caught that bug now but maybe, just maybe, they're dark horses. They have something which not many teams have - a world class player who's in form.

Gutted for our men, they were the better team on the day and have given this their all. But as we always thought, that little bit of extra quality that Wales have was the difference maker.
We are organised and full of heart but we just don't have a Gareth Bale. Good luck to the Welsh - a very proud Northern Irish man. |

The game wasn't great, but both sets of fans during and before the match were exemplary. I've not enjoyed this week because of certain recent events, but tbh the footage of both sets of fans sharing the moment, mingling and drinking and singing with each other got me a bit Teary eyed..... |
