Maybe not all of what's on Netflx is worth watching but I would not say there's nothing on Netflix. I use Netflix a few times a week so dose my sister.
This thread is just a waste of time.

Too much foreign crap. A load of Asian movies, solely because they're cheap. Does it matter if no one watches them.
I'm thinking of going back to amazon, much better content

You've clearly not taken a good look at the available Amazon content, then, because the same can be said of that.

What's one mans crap is another mans awesome
Netflix don't just have certain content because it's cheap, the majority comes as a package deal to secure some of the more huger rated content.

Best comedian ever.

Wait until movie rights start becoming available then we'll see how your precious SKY fairs when Amazon and Netflix go for them too.

People have been saying that for many years. Netflix is moving away from Sky's model and is pursuing its own original programming strategy.

I personally think most of the Netflix original programming is horrible and not a patch on the award-winning shows shown exclusively on Sky Atlantic. But I know others will disagree.

Netflix original movies are mostly all terrible from what I've heard and read in reviews.

Sky Atlantic? Most content is bought from HBO! Orange is the new black, House of cards, Jessica Jones, Bloodline, Daredevil and Narcos is better than anything Sky produces. Sky? Inferior service, inferior picture all for a rip off price.

Everyone has their own taste, only show i watched on Sky Atlantic was Game of thrones and that had ad breaks during it, even when they was simulcasting the airing with HBO which resulted in Game of thrones being cut by about 10 minutes compared to HBO.
Netflx fair price, no adverts (yet), decent quality oh yeah 4k too which SKY are only just starting.
Netflix original programmes have won multiple awards orange is the new black, marco polo, dardevil, jessica jones to name a couple.

Why the arguments ? One side vs the other ?

As someone who has both I can honestly say I welcome the investment in original programming from both of them.

Netflix have had quite a few originals we've watched and enjoyed such as Bloodline , House of Cards , Daredevil , Narcos and Unbreakable Jimmy Schmidt.

Sky have also had a good few originals/co-productions we've enjoyed such as Strike Back , Fortitude , The Tunnel , Stella , Ross Kemp documentaries , A league of their own and Spy.

I may add one or two of those above have been enjoyed by the female element of our household.

Basically because Mr Sky (aurichie) thinks there is nothing worth watching if it isn't on the Sky platform, when clearly there are.

Well isnt it all a matter of individuals taste, or lack of it in some cases. I have access to Netflix, Amazon and Sky(NowTV) movies and over the last three months have found very little I think is worth watching on any of them. But then I hate most American style movies that include gratuitous violence and foul language and this seems to make up a large percentage of movies on all three. I accept there are people who like this sort of mindless trivia so have to accept that most will like one or other of the products and I accept that my taste may be different to most and that I have a choice of whether to subscribe to any one of them or not. So it isn't just a case of one is better than the other it's a case of whether the one you choose suits your needs or not as the case may be.

I find Netflix to be fine. I have watched Damages and Fuller House on it and I'm also halfway though watching Heartland and I now on the second season of Bloodline and Scream.
Have also watched 2 or 3 films on Netflix in the last two or three months.
My sister watches House of Cards on Netflix.
I would not say Netflix is poundland equivalent of entertainment services for Netflix is improving all the time.
if you want the same sort of stuff on Sky, eg movies and TV box sets than it will cost you over dubble the price of Netflix.
I also have BT TV and find both of them fine value for money and cheaper than having Sky for TV. I never tane the Sky Movies package via BT TV.
As for Amazon prime instent video I have never used it but have heard some say its good and others says Nextflix is better.

But you couldn't help having a dig and adding that netflix was the equivalent of poundland entertainment services.

Do you have Netflix? Have you seen House of Cards, Jessica Jones, Bloodline, Daredevil, Making a Murderer, Rita original programmes and great back catalogue? You mention of "of what you've read" Well if you read the reviews of the few that I have mentioned then you would see they are highly regarded and very popular.

There is a world outside of SKY and much better value for many.

I agree. Netflix needs to do better. None of the series or movies I would like to watch is there.

Monk, Poirot, Marple, Little house on the Prairie, Columbo, Jessica Fletcher, Hitchcock presents, Midsomer murders, Walking dead, Hart to Hart, Psych,.. Nothing..

And documentaries. I would love documentaries on ex. Amelia Earhart, Moors murders, unsolved historical crimes, Lindbergh "kidnapping", royal history, Versailles, historical artwork and so forth.

I even tried to search for Game of Thrones, since my son thought it is so good. I know I would hate it, but it wasn't on netflix anyway, so.

I realise they can't have it all, but not even one little show or movie of interest have I found,

Ok, I am lying. I watched the series called Scream, and also watched a movie called Hush.
