Iphone 6s No pictures showing against contacts

So i upgraded from iphone 5 to the iphone 6s 2 days ago. I'd done a back up on the 5 the day before so when i bought the 6s i was told to just log into wifi & then select download from the icloud & all my contacts, pics etc would copy across the the new 6s, although i'd have to re-download my apps again.

Fair enough i thought, so i logged into wifi followed the instructions & sure enough contacts, pics, settings etc appeared on the new 6s, surprisingly so did all the apps i had on the 5.

The only thing that i cant seem to get is within contacts, where i used to see the people i'm friends with on facebook who are in my contacts their fb profile pic next to their name in contacts on the iphone5.

I've tried the usual go into settings/tap facebook/ make sure contacts is allowed & then clicked on update contacts. It tells me no contacts updated & no pictures appear in contacts.

Is the fact that i just basically downloaded a copy of what was on the iphone 5 from the icloud onto the iphone6 the issue, am i doing something wrong or just missing something simple?

Any help/ideas?

Just a thought, does FB have access to your photos? i.e. from the Facebook app tap Photo on the top bar, and does a screen come up asking fro Photo access? if so, click Continue then OK.

Checked that & it does have access to the camera roll.

Issue is that where as on my previous iphone people i'm friends with on FB & are in my contacts, the contacts displayed their FB profile pic against their name, but on the new iphone that doesn't happen.

very weird.

I wonder if they will appear when you contact the people. Have you tried that. Apple has so many ridiculous foibles, only today I noticed all the music had vanished from my 6S had to tick them all again in iTunes and then sync. Even doing this only pushed the ones on iTunes across. Loads of unused albums from my library on iTunes and my computer have vanished completely. Sometimes I think Apple are just taking the p*** with us.

None of my Facebook contacts pictures show up either, if I'm honest I don't think I've ever seen any other than in FB messenger app.

Edit:

Actually I've just had another look through all my contacts and it seems some are and some are not, I guess there's a possibility it's to do with what friends may have set on their privacy settings.

Just been having a play around and now all my Facebook contacts have a picture.
What I did was go into contacts then select 'groups' and untick all.
I then just selected 'All Facebook' which then showed all contacts with a picture. I then selected 'All Contacts' to bring all the others back.

Home screen, Settings->Facebook make sure your login is in here. (Scroll down a long way)

Glad you have sorted it. Great how Apple make everything so easy
